  1. I was also thinking this as well.... NYU hasn't been without some turnover either.
  2. 2 things about your schools... all hope is not lost I also interviewed at Stony Brook weeks ago with you, and a few days ago got an email saying I was rejected. The fact you had the interview but havent heard anything yet, is actually good. It means that you weren't weaned out in the round I was... so your even closer to making their final list. They have alist they whittle down over and over till they have their list. No word with an interview means you havent been tossed out yet. I also applied to Boston College and have zero word. I found out no word at this point can still mean waitlist actually.
  3. It's up to you of course. Personally, I think you would be making a mistake going to NYU when you have a much better offer.
  4. Ranking, reputation, placements after, the are it's in is way better also for expenses and having a kid. I've talked to a few very trusted advisors about the teaching thing for myself, and ALL 3 of them have said it's much better to teach than to not, fellowship or not. Because afterward when places are looking to hire you, they want to see that you've been teaching. Less teaching years = less teaching experience = place hiring you doesn't think you know what your doing.
  5. I would find out Princeton's funding offer. If I were you, and the the funding was similar I think it's the better choice.
  6. When I was interviewed, I was told only people who were interviewed were being considered at that point....not sure if you had one also? Prof. Fallon was who I wanted.
  7. Just got rejected at Stony Brook, after what I thought was a really good interview...
  8. Anyone else waiting on Brandeis for Social Policy?
  9. UCONN already sent out their 8 acceptances weeks ago. No word on waitlists.
  10. Starting to get impatient about not hearing from Boston College, or Brandeis (Social Policy)
  11. No, i would not do this until after the first week of march. It's not uncommon for many schools to release that late.
  12. My waitlist is also my first choice. I emailed back saying I'm still really intrested in the dept. and that I hope to come off of the list in the future. They responded back with a friendly email saying they'll basically keep me in the loop. They don't rank their waitlist there so no need to ask.
  13. Yup, our letters said 8 of us. No idea on waitlist, but someone else said they had already declined their acceptance.
  14. Ya, mine doesn't say that. I got, " As prospective students make decisions about what program to enroll in, it is possible that funding lines will open up. If that happens, we may return to this group to make additional funding offers. "
  15. Not sure what your email said, but mine for Albany didn't leave me feeling particularly hopeful to get off it. Basically made me feel like the possibility was small.
  16. Waitlisted for Funding at Albany as well, and waitlisted in general at Umass Amherst. Really hope to get off of Amherst's waitlist.
  17. so this new e mail puts me at : official rejects - BU, Brown unofficial rejects assumed - Yale No word at all - Brandeis, BC Interviewed waiitng on word - Stony brook, Northeastern waitlisted - ALbany, Umass Accepted- UCONN
  18. Just got an email from Albany that's kind of confusing. I think I've been accepted but waitlisted for funding...?
  19. Ugh, there's a thing on the board saying someone got an accepted phone call for it today or yesterday. Not sure if it's a trolling bc it's so much earlier than normal, or if results are really out and no phone call for us is bad :/
  20. Ya saw that too, In the past late March, but that's so late.
  21. This is my understanding of it as well. And what Umass will be doing with the wait list I'm on.
  22. Did anyone else apply to Social Policy at Brandeis?
