Yeah, that's true. Perhaps this is a (or likely the final) pre-announcement maintenance. Could make sense, as the others may not have been specifically for the GRFP site. (I don't remember seeing site-specific announcements over the past couple of weeks.)

Probably not. This is possibly when they enter the scores/feedback/results lists, into the FastLane system. I'm pretty sure the award winner lists from past years has been taken down, a week or two prior to the announcements, in years past.

I'm declining UCSD and withdrawing from a Fulbright grant competition. Wonderful opportunities/institutions, but not the best fit for my long term academic/career goals.

Do you think you would be happy at the school you were accepted to? And do you think it would it be good for your career and future? If so, then accept the offer.

Do we know if 1st and 2nd year students will still be evaluated separately? Or will they be lumped together into a single group? That could make a huge difference for strategy.

Q-166 V-168 W-5 2 acceptances to top 12 social/personality programs. Current undergrad senior, several posters, and some pubs in prep, but no actual publications yet. Lots of tutoring/outreach work.

The best thing you can do now is just push forward and hope for the best! (: You've accomplished a lot to make it this far, and it'll all work out in the end.

Thanks! It went pretty well. I'm definitely more eloquent on paper than over phone, but it was good! And if it doesn't work out, I have other options.

It depends upon the school, program, and how much they want you/how other people react to the offers. Many schools send out acceptances in waves, and attempt to fill up a particular number of spots.

I say be honest. You'll wind up in the best place for you, whether you realize it at the time or not. I wouldn't lie. Psychology is a relatively small world, especially it's subdomains. And you don't want to make a bad impression.

Just got a UK phone interview invite!

The applications were definitely reviewed extensively before getting to this stage. There's an entire committee that screens all the applications and decides who to recommend as a semifinalist. It's based on much, much more than GPA. That's one of the least important aspects, or so I've heard. (Not that it doesn't matter too). I'm pretty sure once you're to this stage the largest things evaluated will be institutional/program fit and the strength of your proposal. The average GPA is likely quite high, but will not be a key delimiter from this point on. Mas far as number of UK semi-finalists, I have no clue. There are likely more than the website states for awards generally, but beyond that, I don't really know. Good luck!
