  1. I only applied to one school and my interview is March 10th. Needless to say I haven't heard anything else yet But I was happy to see a MA School Psych post on here!!
  2. I know this varies greatly by school and department but I am curious to see what everyone's experiences have been with this waiting game. I wonder if they let people know sooner depending on if it is an acceptance or rejection...
  3. I should find out sometime between March 10th and April 1st... unless I'm wait-listed, then all bets are off on timing!
  4. I understand that. What other forum(s) do you look at? ...like I really need to be obsessive over another one hahaha, but it would be nice to know what other information is out there. No one seems to post about my school on here at all!
  5. BEST of luck!!!
  6. Thank you! UMass Boston (MEd/EdS). Which programs did you apply to?
  7. haha! I read this after already submitting my last post. I completely understand! I have an interview on March 10th. I KNOW I won't find out anything until after that (and probably not until April 1st!) but I CANNOT stop checking and hoping anyway! I know it is ridiculous and that I will not find out anything else until then but I think I am just so tired of waiting I am becoming completely irrational I have re-read my SOP and LORs (that were sent to me after) so many times wondering how the adcom is thinking about them. Getting more confident, less confident, back and forth
  8. This is my exact situation. Rah! (and I love your icon!)
  9. Where did you apply? I am also applying for School Psych so we may be applying to the same schools and I can let you know if any of them have the online status checker
  10. Responding to the poll options: I wouldn't call them to see if they would change their minds, however, I would like to know what it was that was wrong with my application so I can know what to improve next time. I am going to be applying again if I don't get in and it would be so helpful to know what to put more effort into. If it is my GRE scores, for example, I know I just need to study until my head explodes... whereas, if it is LORs, I will find new people, etc. I know they often won't give you much detail (if any) but in an ideal world, they would take the time to at least send out a checklist or something. Hopefully it doesn't come to that Going through this whole process again would be devastating.
  11. I am so ready for March. Hurry up!
  12. I only applied to one program as well. It is for an M.Ed/Ed.S program. I thought very hard about applying to others, however, I finally realized that applying to more schools just in order to get in was a silly notion. If this is the only school in which I would be able to do exactly what I want to do without moving out of state (which is not an option for me right now), why bother to apply? I would not attend even if I were to be accepted. I am still panicked about not getting in and I am not sure what I am going to do, but at the end of the day, it was the right decision to stick to my one school.
  13. Thank you for the advice!
  14. I know! I haven't been able to stop thinking about the interview since I found out I was going to be able to do one! Yours is sooner than mine at least! Best of luck!!!
  15. I understand. The deadline for my school was 1/2. My application was finished and received by them (according to the postal service delivery tracker) on 12/22. They kept sending me things saying I was missing materials until 1/20 (luckily I didn't have to send anything else in again, they were just behind in updating the system). I got an invitation to come in for an interview on 2/5, and I will be going in 3/10. It feels like the longest 3 weeks away ever!
  16. I was thinking about that as well. I would like to make sure I am very well prepared, but I don't want it to seem like I am not because I am reading off the paper... Which School Psych programs are you applying to?
  17. My interview takes place over the course of 3 hours on one day. I don't have to plan for a number of different events. Since that is the case, would it be advised that I definitely wear a suit versus "business casual"...a pair of nice black pants and a sweater or button-down shirt? Any ideas? I want to make sure I am comfortable (which I am not really in a suit), however, I definitely do not want it to seem as though I don't care about my appearance or making a good impression.
  18. True! I am not supposed to hear until sometime between mid-March and April 1st. The suspense....
  19. haha good thing you ended up checking it!! I have been checking my spam folder whenever I see anything new in it just in case.
  20. I completely agree. It is painful. They don't understand that when I say "it is not at all guaranteed that I will get in" that I am very accurate. I am trying to be realistic so I am not (as) crushed if I get rejected. I know they are just trying to be supportive but, listen to me when I say it isn't a sure thing!!
  21. I was wondering about this as well, but more in terms of after interviews. I am applying to a Masters program and will not be working specifically with one member of the faculty. I have an interview next month in which I will be participating in a group interview, a personal interview with a faculty member, and an interview with current students. Does anyone have experience, or know anything about how that works out in terms of the admissions process following the interviews? Do the individual faculty members reconvene and then decide who to accept based on personal experiences? Maybe I am stretching it here, but you never know! There is a wealth of knowledge on here
  22. All may not be lost. I know for the school I applied to it just had to be postmarked before the due date... so it is possible that as long as the stamp says it was sent a day or two in advance you may not be docked for it being late. That may not apply here but might bring you a little hope?
  23. This is super late, but where did you end up applying? There isn't much School Psych on this website it seems
  24. Brilliant!
  25. I cannot help but check GradCafe constantly. And, yes! The Olympics will at least let me think about/do something else for the rest of this month in which I am constantly freaking out and anxious about my interview in March. I am very thankful to have an interview lined up, but I am also going crazy just waiting, waiting, waiting... knowing I won't be getting any decisions for over a month.
