Wow thanks for the heads up. I also did not have a good experience at my undergrad (Iona) but some people loved it.. I guess not everyone is gonna love a program. Luckily it's only 2 years so I'll be in and out. Did you end up applying to mercy for your masters or did you look at other schools? Also, what's your gpa? Mine was a 3.1 so if I can get in you def can!

I got into mercy college, Molloy college, and new paltz. All in ny. You just have to do a ton of research on what requirements colleges have for gpas and gres. I suggest going to asha Edfind to find a program that matches you. Then email and ask about your chances. It's def harder with a lower gpa but you can do it!!

My first year I got all rejections, second year 2 wait lists, and finally got in the 3rd time! But thank you!  I just wanted to share because I know how frustrating it can be and how much you wanna say screw it and give up. But you can totally do it! I got into 3 schools with a 3.1 so if I can do it you can too! And I really hope those wait lists turn into acceptances for you. Maybe you can email and express your continued interest in their program and maybe that will give you a leg up!

Hey guys, I just wanted to say don't give up! This was my third time applying and I finally got in! I actually got accepted to 3 schools. If this is something you truly want then keep at it. Improve your app by getting volunteer experience, rewrite that SOP, and reconnect with those LOR. It's totally possible to do if you put your heart into it! I wish you guys the best in the future. I know it's hard not getting accepted (I've been there) but be positive and don't feel like a failure because you're not! So so so many people get rejected before accepted

I believe Tish22 was trying to be helpful and let people know what she has heard since she currently attends that school. Maybe instead of rudely dismissing her you should thank her. Many schools tell students they will know by a certain date but often notify earlier.

I know edfind but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I'm saying this because I emailed a school that I'd be in the range for, and they said my stats were very low for their school. So Just because the range dips lower doesn't mean they usually let people like that in. It could be one person with an amazing background let in while everyone else is above a 3.8... I'm just looking for schools that are notoriously more flexible and look at the whole package.

I was wondering how you address bad grades in your personal statement. I went to 2 undergrad schools, one I had a 2.9 then the next I had a 3.6. Obviously I want them to look at the 3.6 and how I improved myself but the first schools transcript still needs to be sent out. I was going through a tough time with personal things and family stuff that affected my school work but I don't know how to address it in my essay without it sounding pathetic or like a cop out. Any suggestions?
Also, I don't have a family member that suffered a speech impairment or stroke or anything like most do in their essays to explain why they choose the major. I honestly just liked the classes and the material... But that doesn't sound interesting to an admissions committee. Has anyone else decided on the major just bc they liked it? I don't know how to make myself unique when my experience really wasn't...
