  1. I am 24 too, you're not alone! I am VERY stressed/overwhelmed/anxious about jobs (let alone choosing a school) but many people have said if this is your 'calling' you should not worry and you will eventually find one. Also, there are many things you can be doing as a certified teacher other than supplying. Because I feel that I'm a little bit older, Queens is very appealing to me as I could be on the supply list by next September! (as it goes through the summers) I wouldn't limit your options to OISE (if you have), there are many schools out there just as good. Also, I have a past coworker who is doing her masters in SLP at Dalhousie. Is that what you applied for?
  2. Oh for sure! And lots of opportunities for research which is where I think they set themselves apart!
  3. You still will graduate with a "masters". I have just "heard" that this doesn't really give anything extra besides just an extra degree. You are still becoming a teacher just like every other teacher candidate in the BEd program. Again, this is just what I've heard as I frantically ask around and network with other teachers trying to make a decision!
  4. Hey, I have also heard it is equivalent to any other BEd program. The only difference I have heard of is the research-based component that a Masters offers...otherwise I have heard there has been a lot of controversy over why this Masters program is so appealing over any other BEd programs (again this is just what I have heard..I don't know if in competition with a BEd student you would have an edge or not)
  5. You have such a good GPA! I hope you hear from OISE, I mean you got an interview so even that is an accomplishment! I unfortunately did not get an interview...and have accepted the fact that I will not get one. It is upsetting because I thought I had a pretty good shot. Thankfully I have other options for teacher education, though it will take me longer to add a Masters on top of that.. boo Let us know if you hear anything. Best of luck.
  6. Wow - you'll have a masters, thats great! Have you heard anything from OISE?
  7. Yes, I too got Queens on the 12th. Now stressing myself out trying to choose by next Friday....
  8. GPA - 3.5 Experience - about 4,000 hours of teaching related experience (skating instructor, camp supervisor, volunteer in a section classroom, placement experience in a section classroom) Schools I have applied to - OISE, York, Niagara, Brock, Western, Queens *I have received an unofficial acceptance to Western Hopefully we can keep this thread going, because I'm getting anxious..
