Thanks. I'm in a similar situation: an acceptance but nothing on funding just yet, and this. Waiting for it all to be over. Yet to begin writing my masters thesis and probably won't until it's all sorted. And good luck to you too!

You went for the doctoral weekend? Did you get a good feeling from it? I couldn't attend the weekend (int'l applicant) so had an interview - a great one IMO, but now, I'm on the waitlist for the Quantitative Methods programme .

Of course, fully aware of this. Was wondering if anyone finds it funny. -

Still not sure what to make of this "acceptance" from last year. I reported it as spam some time back but not sure that does anything. Anyone find it funny? -
I think affirmative action and positive discrimination are the same thing. "discrimination" though makes affirmative action sound a lot more biased than I think it is.

Grew up with masculine pronouns being used in the universal context but I've since begun to to use "s/he". Now I think of it, is "s/he" also problematic given it assumes it's all binary? @gughok And is "she" fine because it's a form of "positive discrimination"?

Made me chuckle - getting congratulated. I guess it's something but I had a fantastic interview so I feel rather disappointed . You're not alone, but you can visit this topic for relief: http://forum.thegradcafe.com/topic/51574-favorite-rejection-quotes-from-the-results-page/ And thanks! Where are my manners?! [NOT GSE BERKELEY]

Oh! I'm not writing about an application to GSE Berkeley. Truly sorry if I misled you or any other person. Good luck. I also applied to four schools - 1a/1w/2r - and maybe I should have applied to more but location matters for me. Applying to more usually makes sense though but your reasoning is valid.

Generic email with link to application website. That was it. Why? [NOT GSE BERKELEY]

Just got on a wait-list. After my interview experience, I think I feel like John Kerry getting swiftboated by folks with whom he felt he'd struck a bond. Congrats to admitted students and hopefully, they reach their decisions soon. As an international applicant, I don't know how long I can wait for - my letter says "months". My one other offer remains unfunded for now but I may have to take it some time after I (hopefully) get funding information.

I just got waitlisted :(. Disappointed! Thanks. [NOT GSE BERKELEY]

This sounds a little like a call I had elsewhere http://forum.thegradcafe.com/topic/70077-penn-gse-2016/?do=findComment&comment=1058336057 I really do hope my story ends similarly.

What's the meaning behind your username?
juanmesh replied to FoxAndChicken's topic in Waiting it Out
The first letter of my first name + the first three letters of my surname + the second to fifth letters of my first name + the fourth letter of my surname. -

You really shouldn't be doing this :). -
Why do the numbers in your signature not add up?

@erictianI think that email is pretty standard. Got it too. Thanks.

Willing to expand this from Teaching & Learning to all OSU EHE programmes? Applied to PhD in Quantitative Research, Evaluation & Measurement. Heard about admission but nothing on funding. I think OSU EHE admissions may be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Hello, does anyone who attended the Doctoral weekend know when applicants are likely to hear back? And anyone willing to share their experience? Thanks very much.

Great suggestion! I thought of this when I started but forgot about it. I think I could easily do a drilldown of the column charts (averages), you click on them then it shows the different scores by A/U/I. The boxplots may require a little more work so may do that now or much later when my current break is over.
