Amen to that. Most institutions are extremely inconsiderate when it comes to notifying rejected apps.

Was just checking the same; in the past it's been around Feb 25th. Some get referred to their MAPH program but they generally don't provide funding.

The little red diamond? If you hover over it it'll tell you what their GPA/GRE scores were. It only shows up for those who reported it when adding their entry. Edit: nvm I see what you mean now, not sure what that symbol is

+1 Congrats everyone! Since Chicago doesn't have a wait list and offers each applicant the same package, I can probably presume rejection if I haven't heard anything yet, right?

Anxiously awaiting Chicago too... I think if they sent out somebody would have posted about it, though. Guess we'll have to sit through the weekend and hope for news on Monday.

Hey guys. I'm applying to dual degrees in law and philosophy and so submitted applications to both the law schools and the graduate schools of each institution. Since Duke recently sent out admissions for its Ph.D. program, and I did not receive anything, I'm assuming I was rejected. Though I have not yet heard from the law school yet, I have a good chance of being admitted - law admissions are far more predictable than are those for philosophy. Do you guys think it would be okay to e-mail them (the law school) and ask to consider me for the funded J.D./M.A. instead, even though I have not officially heard back anything? Or should I wait until I receive an official rejection for the Ph.D? Edit: JD/MA apps go through the law school instead of the graduate school

Just as I gave up hope on Duke and mentally checked "presumed rejected," somebody cruelly posted another acceptance! :S Now I have a sliver of hope again to keep me busy refreshing e-mail... Congrats on the Edinburgh acceptance, by the way! I'm not very familiar with the institution, but I know it's an absolutely gorgeous place to be! Now onto waiting for Feb 12th for Notre Dame...

I don't think so: Notre Dame is the only school from which I received such an explanatory e-mail. Did you get the link to the status checker? That's all I got from them aside from the initial confirmation.

Does Duke generally send out all acceptances on the same day? Haven't heard anything - does this mean I'm a reject/waitlist or is there still hope? :/
