  1. Hi all, I'm also attending UChicago Biomedical Sciences (Human Genetics Track). I'm thinking I'll do grad housing but still unsure.
  2. Just got accepted to U Chicago's Human Genetics program!! im so excited, I had so much fun there on my interview. Posting because I wanted to give hope to others with only 1 interview - it can work out! At the end of the day you can only go to one place.
  3. Why can't they send final decisions until everyone is interviewed?
  4. Haha, I guess because I don't want to nag them! But maybe I should?
  5. Just curious, has anyone gotten rejections for MIT Biology, Stanford Biosciences, UCSF BMS, UPenn CAMB, or Berkeley MCB? In other words, does the lack of an invitation to interview definitely mean a rejection? My parents (who are very removed from the world of science & phds) have told me that no news is good news, so I was curious if anyone has gotten accepted to these programs without interview or whether a second wave of interview invites would possibly come out after their first interview date. Also, anyone else mentally preparing to freeze to death going to UChicago on the 21st?
  6. I'm not from Michigan, also I know that UM is an amazing school, but it seemed easier to get into than the big names that I'm applying to (which is why I classified it as more of a "fit" than a "reach"). Thanks for the advice, I know I can only attend one school, but I hate having so few options at this point when others are celebrating 5+ interviews. Its hard to stay hopeful that I'll get into some of the schools on my list after receiving this rejection.
  7. Just got rejected from UM PIBS... that was one of my "fit"/"safety" schools and since I've only gotten one interview, I'm really terrified that means I'll get rejected/ have already gotten rejected from my other ones. If I'm not good enough for UM I don't get how I can get into U Chicago or anywhere else on my list. It definitely doesn't help that I probably got rejected from UPenn, Harvard, and UCSF since their interviews have already gone out... Insights? Advice?
  8. I'm in the same boat too, but also havent heard back from other schools people have already heard back from too... im trying to be hopeful, but...
  9. That the track will matter or residency? I'm hoping that the track matters, because if not I'm rejected from UCSF and Penn , but I'm not going to give up hope on them until I get a firm rejection email... Although its also possible that these invites are coming out in waves, and that we simply haven't hit the next wave (regardless of track).
  10. Usually you have to respond to confirm that you will be attending the interview (at least that's what I had to do) and in that email I wrote a little thank you for the invitation to interview and how excited I was to be considered, and that I was excited to visit the campus on interview day.
  11. I haven't heard from BMS yet either, although I applied to a different track than you did. I have hope that we still have a chance!!
  12. you'll get one!!
  13. I still haven't gotten any emails from UCSF BMS or Penn CAMB, while others who applied to different tracks have... So I'm really really hoping its rolling or divided up by track. fingers crossed
  14. Congrats!!! Which track did you apply to?
  15. Congrats!!! (*anxiously refreshes inbox 500 times*)
