  1. Hi, I sent an email inquiring whether interview invitations had been sent for Clinical and she said "We are in the middle of that process now. You’ll hear something by mid-next week." There is still hope
  2. Ah, I see. When you spoke with the program coordinator, did she mention whether invites went out for all programs or did you inquire about a specific one?
  3. and i thought i was refreshing my email a lot before i read this.... the suspense
  4. For the person who heard from the clinical program at West Virginia University, POI or mass email? Thanks in advance and congrats!
  5. Hi, I wasn't the person who posted that, but I had a very similar experience so maybe I can help. Had a phone interview on 1/4 (last Monday) with POI - preliminary interview. They said on the phone the admissions committee would be meeting over the next two weeks and decisions would be made within 7-10 days. My impression of 10 days would be by this Friday the 15th, yes. I also think that if you applied to the program and did not have a preliminary interview that is 100% normal!
  6. Thanks so much for sharing that article. I found it very helpful and insightful. Good luck on your interviews!
  7. I waited to book my flight for my interview until 13 days before I need to leave and it was $400 one way!! lol so yes, they shouldn't assume it's a good turn around time. That being said, I was the one who chose to wait so long to book and they did give me enough notice. Won't do that again.
  8. I was talking to my research mentor about applications and interviews recently, and she said that many programs do have short turn around times and assume that two weeks is probably enough to plan a trip somewhere. Hope that helps!
  9. I think that the best thing we can do is give ourselves a realistic date to set our expectations on. In previous years people didn't hear back until mid-late January. Some people have heard now, which is early and they are probably standout applicants, but that shouldn't necessarily deter us from thinking we will hear back with good news. I would say if we don't hear anything by Jan 20th we can be worried, but until then we should keep our heads up
  10. Haha, oh no.. Well, here are two defenses I can come up with in our favor: 1. Different tracks might be different in how they make their admission decisions, and when. 2. It was an individual POI that contacted them and not a mass email from the department (since they are in a different track there is a very strong chance that you wouldn't have the same POI and shouldn't be worried) That being said, congrats to the person who received a phone interview! Good luck!
  11. Me too!! Just knowing we can hear any day now is really exciting. I had to unsubscribe from a few sites I received emails from because it was just too anticlimactic to see unread emails from them
  12. Hello! I applied to both those programs with the geropsychology track. Haven't heard anything back yet. I noticed that some students received calls from POIs in mid-December, so hoping that doesn't rule us out since we haven't heard. Fingers crossed
  13. Hi! I received a rejection email from them this morning - the geropsychology track. I think that the different tracks make their decisions independently of each other, so don't worry and good luck!!
  14. For the two people who received emails from UCCS for Clinical Psychology on 12/16, can you clarify whether the email was from a POI or was more of a mass email to applicants invited to interview? Thanks
