  1. I'm sure things happen, as they do everywhere. I'm just saying I've never had personal experience with that or heard of that happening to anyone I know.
  2. Finished the Seattle University app! It's the only one I applied to so I'm anxious. On another note, anyone planning to go to TPE?
  3. I've never really had an issue with that. I've done a lot of driving alone late at night in both Southern and Northern LA since I started driving. I'm cautious but I wouldn't consider it dangerous.
  4. They're too excited to take the time to spell it right. I'd probably do the same haha.
  5. I'm definitely not condemning you for having personal experience with mental illness or feeling comfortable bringing it up in your essay. I hope that's not how it came across. I was just told that, like knp said, you don't want it to seem like you're getting into the program to learn about yourself. And it can seem as if "you're interested in this now because it's directly affecting your life right now but what about 15 years down the line when it's possibly not so relevant?" (I'm not meaning to imply mental illness always gets better with time, I'm aware it doesn't. Just setting up a hypothetical).
  6. I'd wait and get more experience. I/O is really competitive and it may be too late in the process to apply (it's not my field so I'm not sure about the average app date).
  7. I've heard this as well. In my careers for psych majors undergraduate class. It was mentioned multiple times when talking about grad school apps.
  8. I'd stay away from Louisiana. The food is great but that's about it. Politics, weather, and people are all over the place. Fun for a visit but that's about it. Lived here all my life, ready to escape..I mean move away.
  9. Draft offer
  10. Pacific Theater
  11. My program requires a separate cover letter for Graduate Assistanships. There's no guidelines as far as length. How long is too long?
  12. You guys think the statement should be double spaced? No formatting guidelines were given except a page limit.
  13. Might be dumb but I'm only applying to one program. If I get rejected, I'll just sit out another semester and put in more applications (I'm only 20 after all, I have time) but I really think it's the best program for me, I don't want to go anywhere else. I feel pretty confident about my chances of getting in.
  14. Are you still looking at applying to Seattle U's SDA program?
  15. Pros and cons of living in Seattle?
  16. Anyone looking into SeattleU for grad school? Or is currently attending or previously attended? Especially interested in the SDA program!
