Can you please explain to me what the new rule is?

I wonder how many people applied from my undergraduate institution. I do not know anyone else in EE applying for a PhD program, at least no one in my senior design course is. Maybe that will help my chances.

I also have a strong research background so writing the relevant background is my only hope too! Not a female! haha

Mine is the opposite. I put a lot of time into polishing my personal history and relevant background statement but very little time into my research proposal. The research I have done in my undergrad is unrelated to what I want to do in grad school so I was not sure what to write on. Next year after I have started my grad research I can write a better proposal since I will likely not get it this time around.

I have not received anything from MIT so I assume rejection but it's not confirmed.

I am not sure who's offer I am going to accept. Right now it seems to be between GaTech, UMich, and Purdue. It's going to be a hard decision, I think. I hope the upcoming event can give some guidance. Congratulations!

Look at professor profiles of programs you are interested. If their research sounds interesting, read a couple of their papers. That's how I found my interest.

They are definitely still making decisions. I got an email last Thursday from a professor asking for an interview. Interviewed on Friday. Got admissions offer on Monday. I would try to reach out to any professors you want to work with if I were you. Congratulations! I just got my GaTech acceptance today!

I received an offer from UMich on Monday but they're definitely ongoing. Back in December a professor I interviewed with shared his intent to make me an offer (so you could say unofficial offer) with funding, but I have not gotten an email from the school with acceptance yet.

I've used up the EE hope, there may be some left for philosophy.

Anyone here to claim the Purdue results posted today? Could they be computer and not EE?
