yeaaah UNC-Chapel Hill! I'm there now in that program :)

UNC Chapel Hill's application deadline is April 11th this year, which is SUPER late, but in case people are worried they missed out on applications etc, there is that option as well!

I am currently a first year Ph.D. student and though I've only been in the program a month, I can tell it is not the one for me. And now I am so torn! I want to apply to new programs, but I don't know how to email professors or write on my SOP that I don't like my program and want to change. It is a great program, I know it is super good for what it does, but it just isn't the right fit for me. Has anyone else transferred Ph.D. programs, or know someone in their program who has? I'm nervous to come across as a program hopper or something like that, but I can't do the research I want to do or study the things I really want to study within the program I'm in. Do I just drop out and apply to new schools as though it didnt happen? I have so much anxiety about this.

Well, I had 5 rejections just flat out, 1 rejection after interview, and then an acceptance to UNC! So I'm pretty pumped about that. Phew!

Yuuuuup. I've been rejected from 5 out of my 6 schools. Been out of my Masters program for 3 years now..... I'm tired and sad and contemplating selling organs just because. My organs, not someone else's.

Applied to 6 schools, rejected by 4, waiting on two... when explaining to my mom the amount of stress eating I was doing she responded "well I hope you're also stress running or stress going to the gym too, because you don't want to be rejected AND fat!" Thanks, mom. off to do some trail running!
