  1. @lew and congratulations on your offers!
  2. There is a deposit for Balsillie MAGG? I didn't notice one for MIPP -- which I recently accepted. Did I miss something important?
  3. Isn't the Balsillie tuition less than $22k? Or are you also looking at scholarship funding to cover living and other expenses?
  4. I'm international so selfishly I've not been following the new legislature too much. But still curious how it will unfold for Canadians, especially how it's applicable to graduate programs.
  5. I turned down a Munk offer with a Paul Cadario fellowship (it's still so expensive) -- so best of luck to everyone waiting to hear!
  6. I've been in touch with BSIA MIPP by email, and they said first round offers are still going out.
  7. How do you check BSIA status online? Which of their programs did you apply for? I haven't managed to do that for MIPP through WLU's site.
  8. Congrats!! Now that you wrote it, I realize that I tend to assign more "value" to MPAs/MPPs, seeing MGA as more vague/too broad. Not prepared to back that claim at all though. Munk MGA courses do look superb, although I might have to turn those down in a few days due to cost... (Whoever is next in line, so sorry for making you wait!)
  9. Congratulations all on Munk and BSIA! I got into Munk with 15k, but i'm international so it's still painfully expensive. Ironically i wanted BSIA more (cheaper!, plus the CIGI fellowship, plus one year programs are preferable for me since i already have a related field MA, plus small program = tighter community which my MA showed me i prefer) but have not heard a peep from them. Is there a way to check the BSIA app status online?I keep logging onto two different systems by Laurier and all i see is versions of my app summary.
  10. Thanks!!! Munk wrote to me just yesterday. I had no clue this was a lot, since I'm not at all well versed in Canadian policy schools' funding. It's for the MGA (in my excitement I forgot that Munk has more than one program and didn't mention what mine was), and in the form of a fellowship, if that makes a difference. Does anyone have insider takes on the Munk MGA from current or past students? Any intel much appreciated
  11. Hey! Congrats on Queen's! I applied to that too, and no word so far. However I got accepted to Munk with 15k
  12. Me too! My last initial is G so pretty early in the alphabet. Eh the wait...
  13. UBC MPPGA, Balsillie School of International Affairs, Carleton, Queen's, Simon Fraser
  14. Hey all, UBC sent their funding offer, following the admissions decision. 10k/year with a March 15th deadline to accept. (I'm international.) I'm on the fence since I don't have other funding. Does anyone know if this is a small/average/attractive package for intl students (across schools and/or specifically for UBC)? (EDITED TO ADD: Was lurking on other threads just now, and apparently 15k is pretty standard, so 10k is slightly on the lower side?) Congrats Herovid! Agreed that's an early deadline and some other schools might not send out offers by then. I'm thinking the same with my UBC deadline. Also looks like Queen's offers are out... Didn't get one over here :/
  15. Thanks!! I can't go without hefty program funding though. And not even sure what funding usually looks like for this prog. So it all hinges on that...
  16. Hi, also an MPP applicant here. I'm international so had to send in my GRE. 164V 159Q 5AW. Let's see what happens! (which one is the anxiety emoticon?) @Clo My career goal for example is NGOs/think-tanks/consulting in Canada. With the Canadian govt jobs you are right, I would have zero eligibility.
  17. I haven't heard from Munk or SPPG yet... applied to both.
  18. Hi all, has anyone applied to/heard from the University of British Columbia MPPGA? I got an admission offer last week, but am hoping for some insights about when funding decisions are released. Also @belles, have you applied to other schools and heard from them already?
