Woo! That makes me feel way more relaxed. Thanks!

Oh my gosh yay! I'll message you. Are you going to fly or drive? It's my second interview so I'm feeling a little bit better. I wanted to actually go instead of the Skype interview because I wanted to get a feel for the university, the town, and meet the faculty and current students!

Good luck to you! My Dad offered to buy my ticket so I'm just paying for my hotel and I'm using my tax return lol.

Thank you so much! I am flying! I applied to schools all over - Arizona, Utah, Montana, Boston, Texas and Illinois. I'm very open to a change of scenery. I lived in Texas for 15 years before, but now I have been living in Illinois for 8 so I'm ready for a change of scenery. I applied to Pacific specifically because I feel like they have a very diverse student body compared to the program I'm in currently and a lot of the programs I looked at in Illinois. I also thought it would be a good fit for me because they look at applicants holistically rather than just their GPA/GRE Scores. Also, the program seems really close knit. There seems to be a lot of close interaction between the students and the faculty as well as abundant research opportunities.

Hi, I am headed to Oregon from Illinois on February 24th for an interview. I'm super excited but I've never been to Oregon and this will be my first solo trip I've ever taken in my life. I just wanted to make a post to see if anybody else on here had an interview that day that I could get in contact with.

We each had individual one on one interviews with 2 different interviewers, but we all waited together in the waiting room as a group of SLP Applicants for a few hours and after the interviews we all had lunch on campus and discussed what questions we struggled with etc.

I had a Writing Assignment in my interview however it was the option of picking between 2 case studies and answering some questions. One was about a Geriatric client suffering from a Neurogenic disorder and the other involved a Pediatric client going through Aural Rehabilitation

I'm sorry I was just replying to the original post that says "questions that were asked on there interview". Truly the University already completed their last round of interviews and they asked a multitude of questions - I didn't post them all . At the interview, I talked to 4 different people and they asked us all different questions so I don't really think I gave it all away. I was very nervous about my interview and I just wanted people to feel more relaxed. Not to mention there are already posts on here from last year from people that posted the interview questions from Midwestern last year. In my opinion even if you know the questions (which most are pretty obvious questions that any interview will ask...) but above all, your personality is conveyed in HOW you answer them, your level of comfort, confidence, eye contact/body posture, and the way you articulate yourself. I am sorry though, I didn't mean to offend anyone. Cheers.

when you got the invite to the interview - Invited to interview at Midwestern University via Email January 20th. Interviewed January 27th. where one could find the invite, portal - Via Email any tips from previous interviews - This was my first interview but just breathe and relax. Waiting for the interview is much more stressful than the actual interview. The professors and faculty will make you feel calm and at ease. They're just people Questions that were asked on the interview that can help us - Why did you choose to pursue SLP? Why did you choose this University? How is SLP both a Science and an Art? What is the most frustrating or challenging part of this field? Tell me about your research experience/extra curriculurs etc.

I just got a phone call from the admissions counselor at Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona. I was accepted. I am ecstatic and so relieved knowing that even though it isn't my top choice that I am a competitive enough applicant to be offered admission. I have kept my hope so slow throughout this entire process because of my 3.12 CSDCAS GPA however he said they were very impressed by my interview and extra curricular activities. I hope that all the hopeful people out there who feel defined by their GPA feel more encouraged to keep trying! -
Admissions did yes. The Admissions counselor said they have another round of interviews coming up. The interview process was super laid-back. Goodluck!

I was offered an interview at MWU Glendale. I got an email within two days of completing my application. (Just to answer your question the interview comes before the acceptance and I believe they offer interviews to roughly about 35% of those that apply.) I have low stats and truly wasn't expecting to get in anywhere so I was/am beyond shocked. I scheduled my interview for Friday January 27th. I am extremely nervous but from what I have seen and read, if you do well in your interview, there is a large chance they will accept you and let you know of their decision within two weeks. Good luck and cheers to all!
