  1. Hello all! I'm starting a graduate program at USC in a couple weeks and I am trying to figure out how many credits is too many? So far I am taking 12 units (4 online in a subject I am familiar with). Although it has recently been brought to my attention that I only need 8 classes to complete this program. Meaning - two semesters with 4 classes would complete the program. Now I am not made of money and USC is very expensive. I'm starting to think this isn't such a bad idea. However, I am the first in my family to go to graduate school so I am a little unsure of what this program holds for me. Another one of my thoughts being - if I take 3 classes this semester and 4 classes next semester, do I really want to go back to school in the fall for one course? Not really... Also this program does not require research - only coursework. Please let me know if you think 2 on-campus classes and 2 online classes is too much for one graduate semester Best of luck to everyone starting school in the next couple weeks!
  2. Hey everyone! My name is Hannah. Got accepted to the USC Davis School of Gerontology for the Masters in Aging Services Management! Super stoked. This is my dream school. However the cost of tuition is insane. I currently live in San Francisco. If anyone would like to meet up in the Bay Area that would awesome. I'm also moving back to my hometown, Pasadena, at the end of May. While in school I really really really don't want to move back in with my parents so if anyone would like potentially find a place together that would be ideal!!! Congrats to all the grads!!
  3. That's awesome!! May I ask what you have been doing for work or what you plan on doing with gerontology? I'm still kind of lost with myself haha. I just got accepted to CSULB and I am about to accept the offer but still holding out for USC
  4. Hey everybody!! It's rare to see gerontology applicant posts so I decided to start one! USC is my dream gerontology program and I'm really anxious, nervous, nauseous, to hear my decision. I don't know of any of gerontology students so if you are a gerontology student let's network! We are a rare breed haha. We can use this to talk gerontology programs, schools, admission decisions and just help each other out through the process of graduate admissions! I have applied to USC, CSULB, CSUF, and University of La Verne. Haven't heard from USC, CSULB, or CSUF but I got accepted to La Verne for Fall 2016 Gerontology! YAY!!
