Finally rejected by Brandeis; that took so long. One out of two isn't bad . Sooooo excited about my Maryland acceptance .

I honestly don't post much but saw a gerontology post and want to offer moral support. Good luck with your applications fellow budding gerontologist :-). Go Gero!!!! The only doctoral program that I wanted to apply to for gerontology is the program at UMB/UMBC. I was offered admission and I'll start there in the fall .

I responded to this thread a while ago. I applied to two programs; a Social Policy and a Gerontology program. I have not heard anything from one school (Brandeis) for the Social Policy program and have been accepted to the Gerontology program, University of Maryland. Super excited!!! I accepted their offer which includes a full tuition waiver, insurance (University paid) and a nice stipend. Super happy and can't wait to get there already and get started lol. Yes- but then I realize that I'm uniquely awesome and that no other application will be the same as mine the same as everyone here. Don't let yourself feel down; we all have an 'it' factor. Good look to those of you that are highly qualified; I'm counting on my all around awesomeness to tip the scales in my favor :-). Peace and love everyone.

Hi everyone. I've read all of your responses and had to let you all know that I have seriously laughed at myself for sending out two last minute applications. I spent time talking with one of my recommenders (my department's director who I'm also supporting as a GRA) and was told to consider it practice at the very least and use any feedback for next year's application cycle if necessary. Also, I may send in one more before the deadline. Thanks for the info !!! Reading this thread has been informative and calming. Thanks again everyone .

I only applied to two programs. I'm completely tired and I still have rec letters that need to be submitted for UMBC. I need three total; two of the three have confirmed that they will send recommendations and one already submitted a rec letter. Working on my master's thesis while trying not to freak out worrying about phd program acceptance. Grad school anxiety related to phd program acceptance should be in the dsm-5. Freaking - out.
