TBH I don't have enough data (or rather I haven't compiled enough data) to be able to say anything that I'd be willing to stand by. I know somethings, for example UNC kept a number of folks in the dark up until they had their incoming class confirmed and then the last few rejections rolled out while UConn just didn't get back to people (I think they were the main one folks were annoyed with last year). But for other schools...yeah, I don't have a good sense of it and some of the data last year was incomplete once folks stopped reporting things ?
-
UConn did that last year...it was really frustrating
-
Rad, thanks!

Duke has a confirmed report of an acceptance as of 5 minutes ago (via FB).
-
Just to make sure I update the spreadsheet correctly, was this a regular offer or an early fellowship offer?
-
Also @ Moose#@1%$, BetweenBars, mithrandir8 For Ann Arbor it would be their earliest acceptance since, well, actually it might be their earliest acceptance ever if true. I'm skeptical. Here is the previous data from past years (2012-2018): February 23 R March 9 S February 7 F March 5 R March 7 M February 28 T February 9 F As for WUSTL, it's not as absurd as one might think given past year's release dates even though it would be about a week earlier than their past three releases. But, I've flagged it on the spreadsheet as not reliable/confirmed yet. JK: It's confirmed Here is that info: February 15 W February 8 F February 7 F January 23 F February 17 W February 15 W February 16 F

Just leave the updating to me

I wish I knew ? I really have no idea but until folks start getting formal rejections we won't know what their official/unofficial waitlist situation looks like.
-
More or less. But they have more information than some other institutions I include (just no info on their rejections). I'll add them. Expect a early to Mid Match release. They've done late Feb before but recently it's been March. I estimate around the 7th of March. They've had weekend release (Saturdays) along with T, R, and F.

Here is the Brown history (2012-2018) March 12 M February 15 F February 14 F February 13 F February 12 F February 1 W February 17 S

Hey there! Great question--at the moment I haven't included Leeds since I had so little information from past years. On the results page there were only 3-4 results total, I believe, and some of those were for the masters, some for the PhD, and none of them were from the last two years. Leeds has been one of those schools that folks just don't report on at times (even in the forum) and I didn't tack it on since there was so little information to use ?

There is some theory that they (sometimes) keep a few folks in limbo as an unofficial waitlist of sorts. It has been denied at times, but in 2013 it was confirmed by LA Paul in an email (allegedly). Other years they have an explicit waitlist. That said, sometimes the rejections come in waves and on back to back days. But, don't give up hope yet!

For folks considering Virginia Tech, or who didn't originally consider it, know that they had to literally ask people to apply last year (after the initial date as well I think) since they had so many people turn them down. In the end they still didn't have enough people accept so they had to get non-philosophy grad students to be TAs in order to cover all the classes. If you think you are a good candidate, submit an application! They've picked up some awesome people in the last few years (even if there are hiccups as there are at every institution).

The UConn rejection was claimed directly in FB chat but it does not appear they updated anything on TGC.
-
No such luck ? If history is any indication, then the timing of the offer means it is probably for full funding with a nomination for a university fellowship but that's just a guess
-
Not sure but I can try to find out!
-
I know of someone with an acceptance (student from my previous institution, reliable source).
-
For folks not on the FB group-- someone has confirmed they received an offer from Northwestern today via an email to check the online portal.
-
Kinda. It means that I didn't have enough data points to be 100% certain that Chicago was switching over to interviews ? Part of the problem of having incomplete data.
-
Do you mean this year or last year? (You've posted in the 2018 thread and there were some recent reports of folks getting accepted into Binghamton for this cycle so I wanted to check-in)
-
For folks that didn't see it in the other thread, here is Northwestern's history of releases: February 13 M February 1 F February 5 W January 28 W January 21 R January 26 R January 25 R There is some variation of course dependent on timezone in which people reported. The only positive reports were for the 24th and 25th, and there was nothing on the FB group, but WL reports were for the 25th so I assumed they plausibly released on the same day since they did in 2017. Range is from 2012-2018 with day of the week to the right.
-
Here's what I have for the last few years (2012-2018): February 13 M February 1 F February 5 W January 28 W January 21 R January 26 R January 25 R Depending on who all is on the committee, it could shift around a bit! My estimate on the googlesheet was based on the last three years and a trend towards releasing early ?

While this isn't likely to have all the usual means correct for each school, I have some of that info on a spreadsheet (http://bit.ly/PhilAdm) under the "2019 Predictions" tab.
-
Facebook group, but it looks like I missed flagging it as an early *fellowship* offer. Google sheet is updated to flag it as such! Thanks for flagging that!
