  1. I got the application via email this afternoon. Just letting you know!
  2. Absolutely! And here is a quote from my letter regarding the application: " A link for the SSW Scholarship Application for 2017-2018 will be emailed to admitted applicants by the end of the week from the UNC Qualtrics system. The application deadline is Friday, March 31, 2017. Award notifications will be communicated with all admitted students by April 11th"
  3. 1. I'm from Pennsylvania but currently live in South Carolina 2. Alaska - Maggie Rogers 3. Gemini (I think I'm the only one so far!)
  4. Hey! The interview questions were pretty "standard." One that I remember was something like "Talk about a time where you disagreed with someone about something, how did you handle it and how did it change your relationship?" The rest of them were pretty unmemorable, honestly. With such a short amount of time to respond, I thought it was really difficult to get the point across and try not to go into it too deep. So I'd focus on trying to be as concise as possible. The last question was a typed response with 5 minutes to respond. It was basically one of the same questions from the personal statement about our professional goals. Hope this helps!
  5. Stats: GPA 3.96/4, Q153, V165, and AW5.5. I'm interested in play therapy, trauma focused systems, home visiting, and integrated health care. My letter said that the scholarship application is going live at the end of the week, so I'm not sure if that means everyone will hear back by Friday? I sure hope so.
  6. I just found out this morning that I got into the 2-year program!! I am so happy y'all. I applied on 12/13, the early action deadline. Heard back this morning via an email to check the portal. My biggest weakness was definitely my quantitative GRE score, but everything else was pretty good Feel free to ask any questions.
  7. I'm waiting on VCU as well. I haven't heard anything at all from them. Just playing the waiting game!
  8. Maybe check for course syllabi online. That might give you a general idea of how much reading, test-taking, and writing you will have to do each week. There's absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about! With you having a family, you will be able to bring a different perspective to the table and I think people will really appreciate that.
  9. I'm still waiting. :/
  10. Congrats! So happy for you. Thanks for reporting back to let us know!
  11. Congrats!!! I applied to VCU as well, but haven't heard back yet. It looks like a really good program. Did you apply for the 2-year program?
  12. I remember they talked about this while I was at the info session. I think they said something like they accept over 25% of applicants, with a cohort size of around 150 for the 2-year program and 400-500 applications. I remember they gave a sheet with this information, but I have no idea where it is. Hopefully what I'm remembering is accurate.
  13. I did mine. I did fine, but the questions were definitely not what I was expecting. I was able to answer everything, but I couldn't really go in depth with such a short time frame. And the last written one was basically what was already on my personal statement, so I'm not sure how helpful that is for the committee. Happy about that two week turnaround time though! ?
  14. Trauma-focused systems, child abuse prevention, and family therapy. Interested to see what everyone else wants to study. Congrats to those admitted! How exciting ? And for those of us still waiting, stay strong!! I'm trying my best to not think about it 24/7. Not checking the portal 5x a day might be a good start...
  15. This might just be a guess, but I imagine geriatric social work and care. With the baby boomers getting older and needing more care, I can see geriatric social work falling into the spotlight.
