Well their visit weekend is the end of February so I wouldn't expect anyone gets off the waitlist until early March. Based off of the results page I see at least a couple people getting off of the waitlist in past years!

I heard the same thing about NCSU that they sent out a ton of offers. To help speculate when did your app say complete? Mine was completed in the 12/19 and I got waitlisted on 1/23.

I Agree with bayes. The difference in cost of living in pitt vs new York is very extreme as well.

About an hour ago ( 2pm pst). It's their stat dept but my letter writers/ my statement was tailored to the biostats group. Waitlist results trickle in throughout February and March in previous years.

NC state received 500 applications and I got my first good news: waitlisted! Never thought it would feel so good to be waitlisted!

Next week has been a historically exciting week! NC state stats will send our their waitlisted, rejects. Michigan and UNC acceptances should trickle in. Interview invites to Vanderbilt as well

I can't speak to masters programs but I can tell you that a friend of mine has worse GRE scores than you and got invited to Harvard's biostatistics PhD interview weekend. Another friend with the same scores or worse was admitted to the PhD program at NCSU stats. Another got into Minnesota biostats and invited to Brown's biostats open house. They made up for those scores in other areas but they weren't filtered out. I would think grades in relevant coursework would be more of a filter than GRE scores but I am only speculating when it comes to masters programs.

NC state has sent out their admissions offers. They'll be sending out rejections/waitlist on Monday. Oof

My bud has applied to Duke stats but doesn't use this site. I'll let you know if/when he hears something. I applied about 45 seconds late to their biostat program so I am assuming that is an auto reject but still more than a few weeks away from them sending invites.

I don't know if I've ever seen someone completely strike out on these forums but there might be some reporting bias. For those still waiting for that first acceptance, do you have a backup plan? I initially thought I would start applying to schools with apps due in February if I hadn't heard anything but I got a research job for this spring. I think I would just try again next year but not shoot so high.
