Well, this week is almost ending... assuming that I won't receive any notifications late tonight or during the weekend, I'll say that this week (referring to NEXT week starting 3/26, haha) will be the GOLDEN WEEK!!!

I have set my gmail to notify me of any new messages on desktop, and every time I see that notification, I get incredibly excited, only to notice that it's nothing more than a junk or some meeting that has nothing to do w/ me, etc... that's when I get real annoyed...

Someone I know has been admitted to UC Riverside's bio program in early March...

Hahaha where I am currently (I'm finishing up my master's which is ending in couple months), I'm the only grad student in my program in early 20s. Everyone else is in their early to late 30s (only several are in late 20s). I actually don't mind being the only early 20s student among bunch of 30s, since they have lot of advice to offer from their past work experiences, etc

Does anyone know of anybody who received admission decision emails during weekend? Just wondering if anyone did...

Definitely an i-phone. I've waited too long for this. Oh, and a new pair of shoes. Also, probably a new set of suit.

I might start to email the schools (those that haven't sent me any news) about my application status... but through end of March I'm gonna wait as long as I can without sending out any emails to admission officers...

I might have to wait until the very end of march or early April... I do hope rest of my schools do respond asap, since if they're aiming for April 15 accept/reject admission offer deadline, I'd like at least three weeks to decide until making a grand decision...

I still haven't heard back from five schools either. But I'm gonna try to wait until the very end with utmost patience...

I'm at west coast and since most of my top choices of schools I applied for PhD are at east coast, I've been checking my email from 5am - 2pm (PDT) every day (shows how obsessed I became with getting into schools lol)... if I receive no news by 2pm, then I give up checking email for rest of day, haha...

I'm assuming paintbrush is wondering about the more competitive admission rates this year than previous years. However, I do agree this is a thread with vague title.

Since I got so fed up with waiting I eventually somewhat stopped caring whether I'd be accepted or not (I even shared this feeling with my friends), but even though I claimed I "don't care anymore" it's still really hard to discard the idea of how ecstatic I'll be if I am accepted anywhere.

got waitlisted for one school, which i found out after calling them (I highly doubt they'd email us to notify of our app statuses). still have to wait for two more schools... I called one of them, and the academic coordinator told me they'll try to send out all decisions by end of this week. well, HELLO! that week's ending today! the other school has a history of its sluggish decision process, so patience, patience before I lose my sanity...
