  1. I think it's safe to assume it's a no at this point.
  2. @ArellaV @Vanessa1991 when I emailed Financial Aid about it a couple weeks back, they told me first year IFPs would know along with their fellowship/financial aid package. So if we haven't heard anything back... ?
  3. I know someone who got a reply for her appeal and was granted it. So I'm most, if not all, appeals have been considered and it's safe to say if we haven't heard back yet, we probably didn't get it.
  4. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the difficulty of the proficiency exams, especially towards the ones to waive the Econ and quant analysis core courses. I emailed academic affairs and was provided a link to a page I've read over already and the only new information I gleaned from the response is that it's paper/in-person and the Econ exams must be taken during the first year.
  5. Count me in as the undecided group. I'm leaning towards SAIS for the Econ/quant emphasis But SIPA's branding and the allure of living in NYC has me going back.
  6. Just emailed Pickering yesterday. Was told to expect decisions by end of March. Which, at this rate, is by the end of next week.
  7. Accepted with no funding as well, but I am really attracted to SIPA's program curriculum and location. Price tag is ridiculously high though compared to the half tuition USC Price is offering me. It sounds like the international fellowship is announced separately?
  8. Accepted with no funding. but it's good to know I can get into the program.
  9. LA native here with an input on the driving situation. As mentioned before, Culver City/Santa Monica are convenient places to live if you don't have a car. I would also recommend Little Tokyo and Silverlake area. The Metro is also expanding into SF Valley so if you're really in a budget, that's a good option. I also know people who live farther out in El Sereno and use public transport into DTLA everyday.
  10. Got an email to check my decision status and saw that I was accepted this morning (2/17). I later got the acceptance packet same day (I live in LA county) with funding info. Merit Scholarship half tuition paid for.
  11. @mrs12 I know you said you're not applying to Pickering anymore but your previous dilemma regarding rewriting the essay was the exact same I had. I decided to rework it as I'm doing the SOPs for my grad applications. I guess you can say I've found better ways to say some things. And I'm glad to hear you'll be abroad for a year! It's definitely a rewarding experience. BTW, anybody know how big the fafsa EFC score factors into application screening?
  12. Hey peeps, I've been stalking this thread for months while applying to Rangel. I would like to share the news that Rangel is a no for me as well. I will be applying to Pickering and looking forward to further discussions!
