  1. I would recommend you contact your POI and let them know. You're now a free student and I know of several people who were accepted in this backdoor way. If you were offered CGS, even if you were rejected by the school, contact your POI and let them know. It could change things. CGS and acceptance are usually done by separate committees.
  2. I was rejected from everywhere last year but was accepted this year. For me, what made the difference was getting a job that provided an opportunity to get on manuscripts and presentations, and I got involved in side projects through my undergraduate university psychology department. I also tried to get my name out through the department of the school I was interested in by presenting at conferences and research days offered by the school. I realize this information isn't helpful for everyone, but the most applicable tip I can give is get involved in more research!
  3. This happens when they change the status on the other side - decisions come out April 1st for applicants, but they update on the back end prior to this. I know of some people whose status has updated and some whose status has not. I haven't gotten this email so I'm assuming I'll have my status updated later as I was probably rejected. But this is a guess This happens sometimes - I know of at least two people that got into Clinical this way. Don't give up hope - if you get it, contact your POI ASAP and see if it can be done. For some schools, where the number they admit is based on funding, you can potentially get in because you're a free student that year! Worth asking.
  4. Just got the e-mail from Ottawa U about OGS - was waitlisted, just like with acceptance. If you applied for OGS at Ottawa U, check your inbox!
  5. I did, I interviewed with them at the end of February. Interviews aren't mandatory there but it was a good experience to have one.
  6. Yes, I should've said it earlier! This is for Clinical Psychology
  7. Interesting timing.. I just got an e-mail from Ottawa U saying I was among the top applicants but was waitlisted. It sounds as though initial offers to Ottawa U went out either today or not long ago, because the waitlist has already been compiled.
  8. What timing! Received my rejection just as I read this. It always sucks to be rejected, but good that the wait is over for one more school!
  9. Were you rejected from Western? I haven't heard anything and I'm not sure which is worse.
  10. I have received an offer from a school and personally, I am waiting to hear on April 1st my status for funding. I've known of people in the past who were rejected from everywhere they applied, but then were offered funding and once they advised their POI of being successful in obtaining funding, they were offered a spot in the program. So, for me, I am waiting to know all of my options before making a final decision.
  11. Dalhousie made its first round offers already - I would check in closer to April 15th after all first round offers have accepted or declined. It was a realllly competitive year at Dal so take solace in that!
  12. I did not actually, but I did speak to my supervisor who was in the meetings and spoke to other faculty members. Seven students were accepted in total, and the emails went out earlier this week. So far that I know, the status hasn't changed for anybody, even those that were accepted. However, if you were accepted, you would have about three emails from Dalhousie by now.
