Haven't received my mailed package yet, but I heard they should be there within the next few business days (perhaps this week or Monday for east coasters)

One of the programs I interviewed at (Columbia) said they absolutely wanted people to contact them if they were on a waitlist and would for sure accept if they were pulled off of it. Whether or not the program you're talking about feels the same, it certainly can't hurt if you're polite and enthusiastic

Definitely! PS, unrelated but I see you got into Harvard BBS and Rockefeller... can I pick your brain about how you're leaning with which of those two (or other places) you're thinking of accepting? I'm having trouble myself right now!

Got my official Harvard BBS GSAS letter and package today, it details how to formally accept the offer

Hey! Best of luck with the programs you're waiting on I've been accepted to Harvard BBS, Columbia CMBS and have an upcoming interview at MIT. I turned down interviews at Dartmouth (PEMM) and Tufts (Neuroscience) after I heard back from Harvard. I was rejected from Yale BBS, Rockefeller, Brown Neuroscience. I never heard back from Boston University GPN, I'm assuming rejected since their interview weekend is really soon.

2017 Neuroscience PhD Applicants and Admission Results

I'm not totally sure, but we know they're looking to enroll 15-20, so let's say they offer to 2x that, so let's be conservative and say they send out 30 admissions offers. Although I've seen from previous years that they hold a waitlist, so they might offer to 15-20 and waitlist the rest and rolling admit. They only have one interview weekend, so we'll see pretty quick how many people they're interviewing soon (plus a few extra for international applicants residing overseas)- 426 replies

I'm not sure if it's GSAS-dictated or not. Pre-interviews but after interview offers had been sent out, I was told they're keen on filling 65-75. Don't forget, at the recruitment weekend they made it pretty clear that they've done their selecting, and that the weekend was intended for us to do our selecting Yes, some people won't get offers or may be placed on a waitlist, but by the time we look at the number of people offered interviews, the number they are looking to fill, and the need to over-offer to fill all those spots (plus the feeling and messages relayed to us at the weekend), I think it looks pretty good! The immigration/visa issues might also have something to do with it. I know the hospitals are struggling right now to decide whether or not they can rank applicants for residency spots who are nationals of countries placed on the "ban" list. So perhaps that might be playing into the delay, perhaps some faculty involved in admissions were affected in some way, etc.

FYI to all, I was informed by someone on the ADCOM that they're looking to fill 65-75 seats for 2017 incoming class. They're not looking to cut it down compared to last year. One of the reasons last year was so big is because the year prior, 2015, they had a waaay smaller class due to big snow storms blocking travel and deterring a lot of west coast applicants. Try not to worry too much

I don't have any personal knowledge or thoughts to share, but regarding Emory in general/going to Emory/living in Atlanta, I've had several friends attend the school (PhDs, MDs) and LOVE it. Most of these people are from California, Seattle, Oregon area and had never been to Atlanta prior to interviewing... just to give you an idea of where they resided beforehand and what they were used to.

A feeling? Or do you have inside information I hope you are right!!!

From looking at the previous two years, it looks like the first round of interviews hears today.... not sure if that's the case this year, but that's how it has been previously.
