  1. @emily18ma I heard back from CSULB on March 20th and hand delivered the acceptance checklist on March 22nd. The next day I received and email welcoming me to the school and cohort w/ orientaion details. I did turn my application in on Dec 16th and applied for the 3-year program so I am unsure how their process of the applications are. My friend said she called admissions and they said it could take till May to hear back. I hope you hear from them soon! Best wishes!
  2. Hi I have a question for applicants who have been offered admission into CSULB and have accepted. I accepted my admission and turned in the "MSW acceptance checklist" for CSULB. I then received an email welcoming me to the school and cohort with information to the orientation attached. However, when I log onto MyCSULB I don't see any indication of showing that I'm a grad student or that I can accept/decline admission as well as tuition fees. Thus, I wanted to ask what everyone's process is and if this is what you did as well. I just want to make sure I don't lose out on this opportunity. Thanks! ?

  5. Hi everyone! I have been following this thread for a while and thought I should post my experience with CSUF for anyone else who is going in for an interview! (I also applied to CSULB). I got an email to come in for an interview on a date that I had prior travel plans so I asked if they could reschedule the interview which they were more than willing! Great communication and very understanding. On March 16th I had my interview and it went well! It was a panel interview with Marcella Mendez and Kelly Segovia where both provided detailed information about the program. They asked questions such as "why do you want to do social work?", "where do you see yourself in 5 years?", "what population would be the hardest for you to work with?", asked how I would handle the rigorous program, and if I had any questions. They like it when you know exactly what you want to do with your career too. They also ask questions such as if you have reliable transportation and are willing to have a background check. It was an amazing experience and they offered admission the next day! However, as much as I loved the school and the interview I am going to commit to CSULB. I know that future MSW students at CSUF will have excellent support from both staff and cohort! I wish the best of luck to anyone who is going in for an interview and hope this helps! ?
  6. @Skyylr Yes it's really nerve racking. I received an email worded exactly like that however it was before I submitted my application so I assumed it was for when we had to sign up for CSU mentor. I really don't know anymore I can't receive any information from the department until I wait the 8 weeks unfortunately. @rmeza Oh darn now I'm really anxious :/ I made sure numerous times to go through the checklist before submitting even had my family member review with me. I tried calling twice already and I've only received the same answer as previously mentioned in my last post they won't look into it till I wait the 8 weeks. I just would feel more comfortable and some relief if I knew they had it in the system and are reviewing it. Though she did say they were still going through December there is a small glimmer of hope.....
  7. Oh sorry and I was also wondering what program did everyone apply for? The woman on the phone today tried to tell me it's from a combination of factors and that they are still doing December, but it also goes by program. Which makes me more worried because I know people who turned it in after me for the same program year and received the confirmation email. I thought it was in order of submission date :/
  8. Hi! I submitted my application on December 16th, however I'm getting a bit worried since I have not received my confirmation email. I know several people who have received it within a week. I tried calling but she said they are backed up so it may take up to 8 weeks. Just wondering what exactly does the email entail and how long did it take to receive it? Good luck to everyone! *also I hand delivered the packet to make sure they received and stamped it
