  1. Also waiting to hear from Integrative Studies @ UCSD, but I've had no interview or anything, I am sure this just means a rejection at this point. It's so late in the cycle.
  2. Anyone heard anything from Berkeley or UCSD?
  3. CUNY is great, hope you are happy with this acceptance!
  4. Maybe younger people don't know about this website fortunately for them...
  5. Applied to one musicology-ish program, Integrative Studies at UCSD, and haven't heard anything yet. Not sure if they had interviews earlier and then it's a reject for sure or if they haven't done interviews.
  6. Hi, still waiting to hear from all the places I applied to. Who did you have interviews with?
  7. Had anyone successfully negotiated their offer? I have multiple offers but the place I want to accept also has the lowest funding offer. Should I just tell them this and ask if they can meet the offer I have from another place?
  8. Out of curiosity - what would be your conclusion if you got into one Phd program but rejected from six? Almost everyone I know either got multiple offers or none at all. My application missed the mark for most of the programs but would you assume that this means the one university that accepted me saw the potential beyond what was lacking or that it's just not as rigorous as the other ones?
  9. Do you not have a preference in terms of professors that you want to work with? There are three places that I was accepted to, I am excited about working with professors in two of them, but in one of the departments I think there is only one professor I will connect with, and in the other departments it feels like everyone would "get me" so to speak. The first place is a lot more prestigious, and the professor there is amazing, but I am leaning toward the second place because I think I will enjoy myself there more. Other than this, the second one is in a much bigger city, which I prefer.
  10. Has anyone in composition heard anything from UCSD or Berkeley?
  11. Anyone here wants to claim the Princeton composition acceptance?
  12. That sounds near impossible as a single parent with a young child. For some reason I thought that stipend for PhDs avarages in the mid 30k.
  13. Hi everyone, I am a Composition DMA/PhD applicant. I was accepted to one program so far and I am wondering if anyone here received any acceptance offers and if 23K annual stipend considered average or low for this type of program? Do people usually take loans on top of the stipend? It seems like a really insufficient amount of money for candidates with dependents.
  14. May I ask why you turned down the offer from uPenn? A friend is thinking of accepting
