Congrats on getting accepted! I ended up accepting my offer at the MPP program today. I also declined Munk.
The MPP program has a lot to offer and is really geared towards getting you set up and established in the workforce. There are lots of extracurriculars (pro bono consulting and the FORD SPPG conference ect). There are also great internships and career support services (from what I could tell). I want the versatility of working internationally and domestically as well, and I feel like a MPP aids that more than a MA or even the MGA. Plus it gives all of the same professional support that Munk does but is geared towards the public sector (with a domestic slant). I am going to have a difficult time with the finances as well but I feel like pursuing the MPP will give me a step up in the long run and hopefully give me better job opportunities once I leave school.
Then again your prof sounds fantastic! But, the internship/resume building activities at the SPPG might make it a lot easier for you when you enter the workforce?

They have something called UTAPS. It is essentially a massive bursary that will fill in your assessed need  I think from what I can gather, that all the 1st round offers get the same 3k "entrance scholarship." Definitely not enough, but UTAPS is the big equalizer and its essentially guaranteed to fill the void from what I have been told, and its non-repayable! So essentially, if you can afford the program outright you have to pay, and if you cant you get UTAPS.

Everyone who applied for the SPPG/U of T MPP program should go check their ACORN accounts. Official offers are supposed to be sent tomorrow, however it looks like I got in after my account changed to "decision made" yesterday and today its telling me in ACORN that I am invited. Im really excited!!!

I was informed by the MGA's program coordinator that Munk's first round of offers are set to arrive early next week.

Someone on another thread showed me this and I thought I would share for all of you School of Public Policy and Governance (U of t) MPP applicants!
"2017 Master of Public Policy (MPP) Program Admissions and Applications are now closed. We are currently reviewing all MPP program applications. The School will send out first round offers of admission beginning March 10, 2017 and will continue to make offers until end of April 2017 until all spots are filled."

I am soo happy but also anxious and worried. It was a great program when I visited and seemed like a great fit, I guess tomorrow will tell!

I talked to Munk last week and they said MGA acceptance offers will be sent out early/middle of this week. So it could be today, but also up to Wednesday or Thursday.

So.... we did not get first round offers from Munk today. It looks like they came out on March 1st in 2016, but on the 6th in 2015. I guess we will just have to wait it out and see when they are able to make it through the pile. Has anyone had contact with Munk regarding their timeline this year?

Honestly, I am sooo thankful that I have classes and they fill up at least a portion of my time haha. Aside from that, I am like everyone else. I wish that our likelihood of acceptance was linked to our page refresh rate, that would be nice. Regarding which program, I will accept Munk if I get in with almost 95% certainty and deal with the financial issues caused by high tuition and living in Toronto, but depending on the MPPA programs funding package I may take it. It also depends on what programs my finance gets into at U of T. She got a 20k offer from Carleton in Neuroscience, but also got accepted to U of T for Biomedical Engineering and is waiting on a MPH from the Dalla Lana School @ U of T.  Lesson = Life is complicated haha

Good luck on the week ahead everyone! I hope we get some offers in! Carleton is supposed to decide on their MPPA program by the end of February with offers in the few days following (fingers crossed). So maybe all of you NPSIA folks will start hearing as well Starting to get really nervous over here haha.

You applied to one more than me! I only did 3. My professor recommended atleast two, and I am sure that you will be accepted into one of those if you have a good application. Also, remember that 1st round admissions are not everything (even though it feels that way) and people will keep receiving admissions offers until every spot is full.
We are all in the same boat regarding nerves and anxiety, but I dont think you need to apply to more schools. However, if you did want to, MAGG and MIPP applications at Balsillie have been extended until March 1st. I have considered applying to these programs, however it just is not worth it, in my opinion, to make an application due to fears of not getting accepted. You chose those programs for a reason and most likely because you felt as though they would be a good fit, they will most likely see you in the same light.

So I got some information regarding the MPPA program at Carleton that might be useful for people. It looks like the decisions should be made at the end of this month, with offers following shortly thereafter

That's plenty to get buy on in Halifax if you don't own a car and/or don't live alone. If you get a roommate or live with an SO Halifax is extremely affordable. Plus you have to factor in that the downtown is small and not stupid expensive so you can walk anywhere you want to go/will have virtually no commute.
