  1. I actually got in last semester =D
  2. Some students are accepted conditionally and some unconditional. Conditional students will have to be reviewed after their first semester and they will decide if they will stay in the program or not.
  3. HAHA! Yeah, I've applied to NCCU but definitely would commute. I'm currently taking a few prerequisites now from there but still haven't heard back for grad school. >.< Since you're looking into the medical aspects I would definitely pursue that opportunity at NCCU.
  4. Hey!! I think the only thing I would really worry about is living in Durham..
  5. Hello!! I was wondering if any SLP-Assistants (associates degree) have been able to use their credits towards the CSD prerequisites. Some (SLP-Assistants) have said that they retook all the prerequisites over again but from my understanding we were only lacking two. I’ve tried contacting the head of program and and set up an appointment to meet but that doesn’t look like that will be happening.
  6. Congratulations!!! I've actually started looking over my old SLP-Assistant textbooks. Definitely start memorizing your anatomy especially with the neck and head portions along with the brain. Gain understanding of the basic functions. That will alleviate a lot of stress for later. I've also been brushing up on basic communication lingo such as receptive, expressive, morphemes, phonemes, articulators, etc. I hope this helps =P ps. ooo you can also start memorizing the phonetic (IPA).
  7. Hello!! I'm so sorry for what you're going through and mistakes happen. Will you be getting a lawyer to fight this? I think I would wait until you actually get sentenced or charged. Some times things change and maybe it won't go on your record like a plea bargain. But I will say that to work in some school district everyone has to get a background check... I would definitely say something to director if it will be affecting you're placement. So maybe after you get acceptance letters, you should meet with them and pour your heart out. We had some SLP-Assistants that had stuff on their record and were able to get placements and jobs afterwards.
  8. Do you think Univ. take the student's age into consideration? I guess it could also be argued that "older" folks may possess more experience, but that experience did not help me when it came to those GRE questions.
