Wow they certainly weren't clear about that during the info session
-
You definitely sound qualified I always forget that the personal statement and references also play a huge part in getting accepted. I don't know what kind of references I received, at least from my employer since I'd only known them for 6 months by the time they submitted a letter for me. My personal statement I just don't know about.. it was really tough even the second time around!

I have about 300 hours of crisis counseling, 2000 hours of advocacy work, 100 hours in a drop in centre, a brief research assistant position during my undergrad. I did a year of work in non-profit communications, which may or may not have hurt my applications since it's not direct human service experience. My current position is a bit administrative but in an environment that's relevant to social work, so it probably won't help me. My grades are good. Basically I have a lot of hours that aren't going to be counted as "experience". I was waitlisted at U of T in 2015 but never made it off.. they waitlist a ton of people so it's no surprise! What about you!?

I feel the same way! It's my second time applying to the 2 year program and I'm not sure I've bettered my chances of getting in whatsoever.
-
Same! It sucks a bit. I know you're an advanced standing applicant but any chance you know how many people get put on the wait list for either stream?
-
I received an email from Carleton.. waitlisted.
-
Awesome, congratulations! That's incredible... you got the maximum funding too. Only three students with the top GPA's get the TAships, so it's definitely tough.
-
Not yet! I wish Are you waiting on advanced standing decisions or 2 year programs?
-
If you go to page 9 or 10 of this thread there was some conversation about how to make an ACORN account. You'll need it to monitor your application status and it'll be where you receive news of an invitation. SGS will only ever indicate "Decision Made". U of T had sent out an email in October with instructions; I believe I copied them to the thread.
-
Congratulations! You must feel so relieved
-
Yes, mine is still blank but I didn't apply to the advanced standing stream so I'm assuming I've still got a long way to go.
-
It's for University of Toronto! I thought they weren't using Rosi anymore, only Acorn - can anyone verify?

From what I remember being told at their info session, they accept about 140/800+ applicants or something along those lines. They're anticipating some time in March. When I last applied in 2015, I didn't hear back until the very end of March. All results were out by early April. It's a long wait unfortunately!
-
Nope, mine hasn't changed from "under review" since last month. That is surprising! They didn't send out rejection letters until late March for the 2 year program when I applied in 2015. This is really early, but like someone had mentioned, could be alphabetical for all we know.
-
No I’m thinking I’ve orobably been waitlisted. Their order of things seems really off if they haven’t even finished sending out 1 year decisions and have already started sending out 2 year decisions. Some rejections and acceptances all went out this week for both streams. Unless things move alphabetically, I’m really not sure what’s going on.
-
Did your status change on Carleton too? I’m pretty sure the second review in progress indicates an acceptance, otherwise it would be “not recommended for assessment”... I think...
-
Anyone get any emails from Carleton today? Mine is still "review in progress by department"

Hey, there's a lot more activity in this thread for 2 year MSW programs: What schools are you currently waiting on?

Same here! I spoke with Stephanie yesterday who said all acceptances will be coming out in waves over the "next few days". That may include Monday. So at least we'll know very soon
-
Amazing, congrats! You must be so relieved.. I haven't heard back yet for the 2 year program.
-
Just did a lot of reading through past threads.. tomorrow is the day that a lot of people were accepted into Carleton's two year program. Then again on February 23.. Fingers crossed for any applicants!
-
Yeah, it's a total mess. I do remember SGS changing when I was initially rejected to "Decision Made" if that's any consolation.
-
You're right! I didn't notice that. I haven't had any trouble logging in. I remember receiving an email on October 20 asking me to create a "UTor Join ID" or something like that.. that's what I've been using to log in to Acorn. Here's what it said: Every applicant to the University of Toronto is assigned a JOINid. For graduate applicants, the JOINid gives early access to the online resources of the student housing office. If you begin studies at U of T, it will become your UTORid, which will allow you to access a number of services such as email, library resources, and Blackboard. Please keep your log-in information private, as you would for any other online username or password that grants access to sensitive personal information. This is your JOINid: Your JOINid will not work until you enable it. Step 1: Retrieve your student number. · Go to the SGS Admissions Application login page and log in with your 12-digit Applicant ID and password. · After logging in, click “Profile Update” in the blue menu bar at the top of the page. · Find your U of T Student Number at the top of the page that follows. Step 2: Enable your JOINid. As a new applicant, you will need to first enable your JOINid in order to login to MyRes and apply for residence. Go to the Enable Your JOINid website Enter your JOINid in the JOINid box. Enter your U of T Student Number into the “applicant/student number” box, and then click “Continue” When prompted, enter your date of birth. If you have any trouble enabling your JOINid, please contact admissions.sgs@utoronto.ca.

I was told that offers of admission would be made available via Rosi, not Acorn. The SGS website should indicate 'Decision Made' whether you've been accepted or rejected once the committee has come to any final decision about your application. The actual result will then be visible on Rosi. This was also the process in 2015, but I'm not positive anymore... Also been hearing a couple different things.

York admits 20-25 for both advanced standing and regular track I believe.
