  1. I was not initially a masters applicant, but my PhD application to the University of Chicago in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations was referred to MA committee in Middle Eastern Studies after I had been rejected. I just got my acceptance and financial aid award last week and I am absolutely stoked. I'm already attending a school in Chicago for undergrad and will probably accept the offer.
  2. Woke up this morning to two emails - both in my junk inbox, from UCLA and UChicago. I got rejected from UCLA but I wasn't too bummed out because I did get into UChicago's Masters program, which for me at least, is a wonderful opportunity. Still waiting on decisions for three more schools but at least I know I will be continuing my education somewhere this fall!! Major congrats to those who have been accepted and best of luck to those of you who are still waiting!
  3. I'm not sure and the results page isn't particularly helpful either. Super stressed because Penn is my number one choice but it's been complete radio silence since submitting my application.
  4. I haven't responded, no. Tbh I've been wondering the same thing but I don't think I'm going to reply.
  5. Watching TV shows I like, spending time with friends, reminding myself that there will always be other application cycles. Like yeah it sucks but at the end of the day we are more than just our applications. It can be easy to lose sight of that sometimes.
  6. Just got my rejection email from UChicago as well. They did, however, refer my application to the CMES M.A. program so I guess I'll wait and see what happens there!
  7. I've also applied to 6 institutions, focusing on ancient Near Eastern archaeology. UCLA, SUNY Stony Brook (technically under Anthropology not NELC/NES) , Johns Hopkins, UPenn, UChicago, and Bryn Mawr. I did not anticipate how anxious I would be waiting to hear back!
