  1. Hey, not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I was recently accepted to the University of Michigan's M.S. in Biostats with no funding. It seems to be a well-regarded program but I'm a bit nervous about paying for it out of pocket, although the tuition would be in-state and they mentioned there could be funding opportunities in the second year. Has anyone else taken an M.S. at a top school with no funding, and did it work out for them job-wise? Thank you.
  2. Rejected from Michigan's Applied Stats MS. Oh well, I already got into their Biostats one.
  3. They're both a little more prestigious than Wisconsin-Madison, but UWisconsin is still a very strong, competitive program. Just eyeballing the rankings, UW is a top 5 program, CMU is a top 10 program, and UWisc is a top 15 program. You can't go wrong any way. Once you're deciding between programs of that caliber, research fit, choice of mentor, and even location are more important than prestige.
  4. Yep. Another linked showed up that said "View Admission Recommendation" below the "View Application Data" and "View Credentials".
  5. I just checked Wolverine Access and was told I've been recommended for admissions for the Biostatistics M.S. at U of M. They said I'll get an email in the next 10 days. Check your status people!
  6. Michigan MAS usually doesn't give decisions until March at the earliest. I applied there too, good luck to all of us!
  7. Still waiting too. I never had a phone call or anything; I applied right to the MS. Michigan please...
  8. Looks like a Michigan MS decision has been posted to the results forum. A rejection :/ Let's see some acceptances!
  9. Did you apply to the MS or PhD? Anxiety levels rising, hopefully we'll know within the week.
  10. It looks like MS results are taking forever this year at a lot of schools.
  11. They absolutely do say "we had an unprecedented number of applications" to everyone, but that's because it's true. *pokes Michigan adcoms a couple times*
  12. That's definitely true, their MS program fast-tracks into their PhD program so you can take PhD classes the second year of your MS. And if that's true, they're probably years away from processing regular ol' MS applications...
  13. Only for the PhD program or have MS acceptances begun to roll out as well? Excuse me while my I take some heart medication...
