  1. We are all going to get rejections, it's just part of the process. You still have 5 more schools, I wouldn't let one rejection bum you out. Do you have a plan B for what you are going to do if you don't get in anywhere? I know that having a plan B, of what I'm going to do if I don't get accepted, and knowing there's always next year, the year after, and so forth takes a ton of the pressure off.
  2. Fall semester ended Saturday, just got my last final exam grade. Now I have nothing to distract myself with to stop wanting to recheck application statuses I think I'm going to Pinterest some Elf on the Shelf activities, or something, to keep me busy
  3. Got a similar email from Wisconsin-Madison, "Thank you for your interest in our program. I wanted to let all applicants know that it takes time from when you submit your application to match your GRE scores. It could take up to 10 days to complete the process. If it appears your GRE scores are missing it is not a problem. Faculty will not begin reviewing applicants until all GRE scores are matched with your application. Once we are done matching scores I will contact all applicants with missing scores or any other missing required material to ensure all applications are complete before they are reviewed." Good to know about!
  4. Yup, that was definitely a freak out moment! First year here, as well. Plan B is a research focused psychology masters program that will hopefully get me the research experience to be more competitive along with another degree to boost competitiveness. Then you'll see me back on a thread like this in a year or two ;-) I got called with the acceptance for it yesterday =) So, no matter what I have a fall 2018 destination plan I'm excited about.
  5. Sewing, pfft- knitting is the "in" fiber art right now Seriously though, I didn't realize that invites started to go out in December until I found this and the SDN forum. I was hoping to have the holiday season off from grad school application concerns
  6. I had some serious LOR stress, as well. Honestly, it seems pretty run of the mill and expected by the programs. I only had one that I ended up at risk of going over and the overwhelming feeling I got from the program it was an issue with was that as long as the letter got in within a week or so of the due date that it would be ok. My situation was really a "no one's fault" thing (legit program recognized application system glitches and surgery was involved) but I didn't bring any of that up to anyone I contacted unless it was the party that was dealing with it. Explaining it to anyone else seemed too much like making excuses. At the end of the day I just decided if it didn't work out then I would withdraw the application from this program. It's too much stress on you to worry like that. Just take a breath, keep following up, but if it doesn't work out for this one program remind yourself that it's OK. Think up some awesome plan Bs instead
  7. Last application was due today Program: Clinical Psychology Schools: 7: U of Illinois- Urbana Champaign, U of Minnesota- Twin Cities, U of Wisconsin- Madison, U of Iowa, U of Kansas, U of Nebraska- Lincoln, and U of Missouri- Kansas City. Worried: Research/publication experience Not Worried: 4.0 GPA, really good GRE scores, some work experience that parallels career goal. Ambivalent: Very non-traditional student, think SOP and CV are fine.
