  1. I second this! I've spent a ton of money on applications and I'm worried I'll have to do it all over again.
  2. I asked the program director to look into it and sent a screenshot showing when my letters were submitted. I got an email this morning saying they have the missing letter after all! Now I'm back to the waiting game, but this is reassuring. Thanks!
  3. The program director for one of my backup plans says that they only have one of my letters of recommendation. They were submitted 1-2 months ago and I don't know how to react.
  4. Hello! I've applied to 3 graduate programs. My pending applications are at San Diego State University for behavioral neuroscience and University of Nevada, Reno for public health. I was accepted to the third program; however, I'm not sure I'd like to pursue it anymore. I also applied to 4 post-baccalaureate programs in behavioral neuroscience. I probably won't hear anything until the middle of March, so I'm here to participate in forums to kill time.
  5. Best: Keep volunteering in my lab and try to get a job at the local hospital Craziest: I'd agree with @FacelessMage and rehabilitate baby sloths in Costa Rica. They're just adorable.
  6. I'm struggling with impostor syndrome over here because I'm a first-generation student and I'm on my own in terms of paying my way through school and applications. I applied to one related MA program, one unrelated MHS program (related to my research experience), one MPH program with the option of doing research related to what I'm currently doing, and several post-baccalaureate programs out of fear of not getting into anything. I was accepted to the MHS program, but it is unfunded and I'm not certain I can see myself pursuing careers in that field so I'm hoping something else works out. I asked about the other two graduate programs and I won't find out until March or April, so it's a bit stressful on my end because I'm resisting the temptation to go over the mistakes in my applications.
  7. Like another user mentioned, impostor syndrome hits me hard. I am a first-generation student and while my parents have always told me that getting an education is the most important thing I can do for myself, they have had mixed reactions when I tell them about my ambitions to go to graduate school. I'm preparing to finish my third college degree (I earned an AA and AS at the same time) but because impostor syndrome is hitting me hard right now, I feel conflicted about my educational pursuits; however, I know my determination and passion will push me to keep going after my goals.
