  1. What about you? I see you were also a fall 2018 applicant.
  2. I will attend the last MA program I decided to apply to! It wasn't on my list until a talked to a PhD student at another school whose interests align with mine. She suggested it might be a good fit for me. Seems she was right! For this reason, I absolutely recommend having as many phone conversations with current students and faculty, as possible. Even if you aren't accepted to that specific program you can learn a lot about types of programs and your field in general from their experience, advice, and info. Overall, I'm feeling confident, excited, and very thankful that I decided to apply, thankful for all the people who helped and encouraged me, and thankful that I applied to a wide variety of schools (10 total) since I received more rejections than acceptances, but ultimately got accepted to a school I am excited about with a helpful financial package, too!
  3. Congratulations to everyone for FINALLY BEING DONE WITH THIS! Whatever your outcome this season or where you will be headed next fall I hope you learned something on this journey! The application process taught me a lot about academia and about myself -- my interests, my values, who the supportive people in my life are, etc. !
  4. I applied for an MA and I haven't heard anyting either.
  5. Could it be The Presentation of Christ in the Temple by Giovanni di Paolo from 1435? I found this by searching the Met collection online.
  6. Congratulations! I had an interview for a PhD last week. They asked me to go more in depth about what I want to study, what type of methodology I might use, and what I am looking for in a PhD program - basically why I want to do a PhD. It seemed pretty straightforward, however, they also asked me to describe "an object I consider compelling" and explain why. The questions were direct and we had very minimal back and forth natural conversation. Since then, I have not heard anything from the school so I don't know my admission status.
  7. Where is everyone else? Considering insane admissions statistics there must be more of us... please join the forum, friends!
  8. I've wondered about the same thing. I've seen a lot of people list ability by reading, writing, or speaking. Maybe check how professors have their abilities listed on their CVs. Also, I love your username!!
