  1. I used to live in Tampa. It's like any big city...there are areas you aren't gonna want to go to. It's a pretty good city over, imho. I didn't like Tampa all that much myself (I prefer seasons), but it's close to Bradenton, Sarasota, and St. Pete, which are amazing.
  2. YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS! Lol. Yes. Especially since my semester just ended and I'm not insanely busy with grad apps!
  3. I just started a "plan B" myself. This forum is so comforting, I swear. I feel like so much LESS of a lunatic right now. My backup plans: - Stick it out, apply next year. - Do something clinical instead of research, maybe master's instead of PhD (like occupational therapy). - Go totally sideways and go to school for bakery and patisserie, bc I really love to bake. Don't you roll your eyes at me! - My mom has an amazing and huge antique business, and I could easily help her run and manage it. And spend time with her, which would be great. - Stay in my current field a while longer and put in additional work to bank some cash. Invest, maybe do property rentals.
  4. I submitted all of my applications around 11/17, and I've begun to get portal access, but still haven't even gotten confirmation from a few schools. I have zero clue what to expect and I'm pretty sick to my stomach over it all! Do any of you guys begin working on your potential next step in exhaustive detail, or am I the Lone Freak? I started a Dropbox Paper project with school data and city move research, and have been using that to keep myself from going insane. Or, I may be making myself more crazy...?
  5. Hey guys! I hope your end-of-semester isn't too insane! This is definitely a newbie question, so apologies in advance: Is there somewhere (here) where I might find info re: when people began to get their grad school decisions last round? I have applied to 13 schools (my McNair director requires at least 12; I'm not this sick on my own!), and only some of them list information about decision dates either on their website or via email. As I am currently planning in advance of the spring 18 semester, it would be super helpful to be able to have some idea. Plus, ya know, I'm neurotic. Thanks!
  6. Hello all! It is encouraging to see so many non-traditional students. I just turned 41 in August, and I've worked in clinical patient care for 20 years previously.
