  1. More radio silence. Hoping next week brings some good news.
  2. Solid observation! It looks like they tend to notify on the Monday of the first full week of Feb... Feb 8 was last year, Feb 8-9 in 2017.
  3. Don't worry, I panicked and added a tenth masters program about a week before their priority funding deadline...
  4. NYU has sent out a history acceptance.... I feel like Michael Scott with the fire drill. oh my god it's happening everyone stay calm
  5. I see NYU has started sending out acceptances.
  6. Thank you both for your responses! I figured it wasn't a guaranteed acceptance (though I can dream), but I'm glad that it wasn't necessarily in vain.
  7. If I get accepted, I'm going to keep my summer job volunteering at my hometown's history museum and spend some time with family before heading out to wherever I get accepted.
  8. Also, is it a good sign that I had been asked to visit before applications were due? I'm probably over-thinking a lot of things, but I visited one of my choices in October and met with all of the people I was interested in working with, as well as the grad program director. One of the professors emailed me (a reply to my thank you note) that she hopes I go there. Am I just overthinking to make up for my anxiety?
  9. Just got an email that I was selected to interview with City Year Providence. I'm excited that they want to interview me, but I hate giving legitimacy to the idea that I need a contingency plan. Anyways, here's hoping that the next two weeks bring us some good news!
  10. I see you're interviewing at WashU! If that's where you end up (or go visit), feel free to message me-- I'm a current SLU student and can give you some recommendations about the city. ^.^
  11. One of the programs I really have my eye on has sent out their MA admits, which they send out first! I hope that means I'll get good news soon (I applied for their PhD program). I'm just trying to tell myself that they'll probably let me know sometime next week... hopefully.
  12. Congrats!
  13. I feel like we're coming down to the wire with waiting, and I feel like the closer we get to February, the more anxious I get. I know that most of my programs won't tell me until probably next week (hopefully I can get an acceptance next week), but I'm still terrified. I keep seeing people on my personal Facebook getting into places (though all Master's programs), and it's frustrating to only have radio silence. I visited a school in October and, while I feel the fit is great and I loved the program environment, I keep overthinking everything about that visit. What's worse is that they only accept 3 PhD applicants a year! They're not a "top-rated" program, so maybe they'll have fewer applicants, but it's nerve-racking. I honestly feel like that'll be my best bet (my numbers weren't super strong), but I still don't know if I made the cut. One of the professors I spoke with told me in an email that she "hopes brings you here!" I had good conversations with everyone I visited and I got a recommendation from a professor that's really well-respected by the department (I had this professor as a study abroad student at this university's study abroad program). I can't find any admissions statistics (I.e., how many people apply every year) for them, which makes it all the scarier.
  14. Congrats to everyone getting their acceptances! ❤️ I just saw a UChicago and an Auburn.
  15. That's relieving to hear! Thank you!
  16. Someone got into the MA program at one of the schools I applied to (I applied to the PhD program), so now I've been MORE ANXIOUS.
  17. I just saw that Loyola admitted someone to the MA program. Do MA decisions go out first, usually?
  18. THIS IS SO RELATABLE! I want it to be done but I'm so scared
  19. After posting, I went through the results page and wrote down the average range for the places I applied, most of which are the first full week to the second week of February. Hopefully (and probably, with how my syllabus for my thesis is looking), I'll be knee-deep in demographic research in the mean time.
  20. Probably keep working at my hometown museum and applying again next year.
  21. I applied to ten and I have only gotten radio silence! From what I've seen on the results page, the results from my schools will probably start coming in the first full week of February, but I've been PETRIFIED and barely able to eat. ?
  22. Still radio silence from all of my schools so far. ? I'm feeling pretty discouraged
  23. I haven't heard anything yet, at all. ? From what I've seen on previous years' results, decisions will go out the first full week/the first two full weeks of February. Has anyone else applied to Loyola Chicago? I'm just trying to gauge how many people applied, since they're only accepting 3 people this cycle.
  24. That’s what I figured! I know that, when I talked to the program director at Loyola Chicago, she said that they only admit however many applicants they can fund— this year, that means 3. Hopefully I can be one of the three! ?
