Can I ask a rather crass question? How do y'all evaluate funding packages? I'm so excited and grateful that I've slipped into this thought pattern where "ALL FUNDING IS GOOD FUNDING!!!" (imagine me jumping up and down and crying and clapping while shouting this). But I will have to live on the funding provided, so I should think critically about this. Help? -

@a_sort_of_fractious_angel I just read your signature line with ALL OF THAT GREEN. You are on fire! -
As the creator of this delightfully honest and occasionally doom&gloom thread, and as someone who 9 days ago was in absolute despair, you are hardly against all odds in hoping for University of Oregon. I wish I kept a more optimistic attitude. I was shocked to see an offer yesterday from them— they don’t usually post until March 1st. I wish I knew who the other acceptance was. I was nominated for a graduate school fellowship and the letters had details about that. Some school send out special nominations early. Or maybe they are doing it by area. I’m 19th century American. There are so many possibilities. They don’t even require an answer about the recruitment activities until March 23, which feels to me like they haven’t sent everything out yet!

Congrats! This is so exciting! -
I’m not sure I would worry just yet! Oregon mde me an offer, but maybe they do offers by area? The letter was very personalized, it listed my research interests and what about my application interested them. It didn’t look like many went out today. For reference, I’m 19th century American lit. Good luck! It’s not over until April 15!

Somehow I’m already out of reactions for today. Love the dramatic unfolding though! Keep the live updates coming! -

If it helps, I wasn’t a Delaware admit. I got in last week. Chin up! You’ll get in— you just have to sweat it out a little longer. I certainly didn’t have a perfect application, so ANYTHING is possible. -

I’m in, y’all. Thanks to everyone who coached me through one or two uncharacteristic meltdowns. I’m a tad bit ashamed of my doom & gloom behavior, so I’m not going to specify where. It was my first choice program and I plan to accept. Thanks to all the first rate humans on this forum! ❤️ -

Hang in there! I applied for a slew of jobs but eventually had to take one part time for awhile. In an odd twist of fate, they surprise promoted me. The job market sucks, but it will work out. -

This thread is giving me life. I took my car to a mechanic last week because the SOS button was leaking onto the center console. They tinkered with it and they told me the sunroof in my 2002 car rusted through and now (because they tinkered with) I get directly dripped on if it has rained at all in the last 24 hours. Hilarious? Yes. Fun? No.
