    Not a bad news at all! Congrats. Hope you'll succeed in getting into the final final round. Since I applied to their comp lit track I really have no idea how the admission process is like. Guess we'll also hear back from them next week then.

    Congrats! I know I should not pin much hope on this top dream program when I did not receive the interview. Having completed my MA at Chicago and taken tons of classes in Comp Lit, I think it'd be ideal to do scholarly work as well as live there. Hope you'll say yes

    Fabulous! No Californian schools on my list this year, cuz I've heard about the lack of funding in those CA schools, especially for international students. I'm sure whoever is fortunate to go there will have a blast though. Best to your applications as well.

    Congrats! I'm desperate to hear from Columbia as well. May I ask what your areas of interest are, just so I could gauge whether I should expect an implied rejection from this last dream school? PS: In my SOP I indicate interest in working with Prof. Sarah Cole, and my focus is on global modernism (US., UK, China, etc.). Thanks so much!

    Hi! So sorry to hear about all our rejections...but I like the idea that these are opportunities for reflection and further growth. I've been dying to hear back from Cornell as well, although I'm pretty sure it's an implied rejection. May I ask whether you received an email about it?

    May I ask who your POI would be if you were to come to Chicago? My friend takes several classes in the history department, so I've heard some reviews/commentary about a few Chinese/Japanese history professors.

    Thank you for the information! Congratulations to you as well, and I hope you'll enjoy the campus visit. My POI was not even on the committee this year, so I don't pin much hope on the acceptance. Fingers crossed that I'll at least be on the waitlist (if they have one)...
