  1. I was put on the waitlist last year and I emailed the old MGA coordinator a ton for updates (at least once a month). They probably got annoyed with me but it was worth it to email them because they were very realistic with my chances, and their responses allowed me to move on from the program and start looking for a job. They flat out told me that they over-admitted students -- they admitted 120 students instead of 80 -- and they would only start to accept off the waitlist if the number dropped back to 80. They also told me there were still another 80 other students ON the waitlist. The chances of being admitted off the waitlist were thus slim to none and I was encouraged to pursue other avenues and reapply the next year. Even if they can't tell you your chances (re: rankings), they may be able to be honest with you in the likelihood of the waitlist opening up anytime soon.
  2. I don't think so! I totally forgot but would join if anyone posts and sends a link!!
  3. Has anyone who was admitted to Munk accepted their offer yet? Would anyone be interested in forming a group on FB? I have so many questions & figured maybe students could share their knowledge with each other
  4. I would start planning the gap year -- last year, some students got in off the waitlist after 2 weeks, and some got in around June, and others in August. My friend who went to Munk got into the MGA off the waitlist 2 weeks before school started. I would at least wait until the deadline to accept (April 16th) but I think it's important to plan just in case. Also, Munk is pretty open about the number of students they admit vs. waitlist. Last year, they admitted 110 and waitlisted 80 people. I'm sure you can ask them what stats are this year.
  5. In previous years, they've notified applicants over 5-6 days (e.g. in rounds)! Plus, "many people" only pertains to the amount of folks who posted on this forum. There are still 80 spots in the program and we don't know how many others have or have not heard back!. I would still wait it out Plus, you could always contact Munk and ask if all acceptances have gone out already or not. Rooting for you!!
  6. I’m not sure when you have to get back to GSPIA by, but the program coordinator at Munk told my friend that all students would be notified of the status of their application within the next few days. Many acceptances have already gone out from Munk yesterday and it’s not in alphabetical order. I would wait it out a bit longer if you can — you should hear back from Munk soon.
  7. Wow well that would be super embarrassing on my end if I wasn't actually invited to the program as I told my entire family about my acorn status and have been secretly planning my future at Munk for the next two years...
  8. Here you go I wouldn’t be anxious - most students don’t have their acorn updated until after they receive an email acceptance! Not quite sure why Munk does it to some students and not others, but your acorn not being updated is NOT an indicator that you didn’t get in. Rooting for you!!
  9. Nope! When you first log in, there are four white boxes that show up on your home page. They say "Today's Timetable," "Key Sessional Dates," "Academics," and "Finances." Most people will see the following blurb under the "Academics" box: Academics You do not have any enrolled courses for 2019 Winter. Enrol & Manage - Review your registration status, courses and programs. Registrar, External link - Your first-stop whenever you have questions, concerns or are facing issues that are getting in the way of your success. If you applied to a program, it will also say "Degree Registration Status." If you were invited, it would say program name and the word "invited" beside it in the Academics box.
  10. It is under the big "ACADEMICS" header. I was also accepted (officially, received an email) into another UofT program (2nd choice if I didn't get into Munk) and it also says "invited" beside it. I really really wouldn't worry if your ACORN doesn't update. I know friends in the program and the majority of them said their ACORN did not update until after the official emails went out.
  11. OMG I also have 'invited' on my ACORN status for Munk's MGA!!! I was waitlisted last year and my acorn never updated so this is such an exciting moment for me!!! My last name starts with an S btw and I submitted my application on Jan. 5th (did not submit it super early). !!!! I'm so confused that they are tight-lipped about it?? Do I tell my friends and family I got in?? Lol But also yes, a lot of people who got into the program last year did not have their ACORN updated until official acceptances went out. So if yours hasn't been updated, I would not be worried!! I have no idea why they decide to update some and not others.
  12. That's super frustrating considering they have pushed back the deadline every year. Two years ago it was in February, then it was in mid-March, and now end of March or early April? That's way too late...
