  1. With that many posts in 13 days you probably are :-)

  3. IP address and forum user (if known) are logged too. But these data will NEVER be shared. Interesting. To clarify I understood, you'd be happy to submit your scores, etc. if the data were used in aggregate results (i.e. the type above) only?
  4. Hi guys. I think we've got enough blogs for this season ... so I'm going to lock this thread (I thought it was already locked!) Sorry to those last few who were interested

  7. Hi Guys, Not entirely sure what's going on with the forum s/w. Some of the database tables are crashing (for no apparent reason) and that takes the forum down. The results system, hosted on the same DB is holding up just fine ... It looks like the previous crash just wiped out a few posts, including Jan stats, which I'll repost later. I opened a support ticket with the board s/w people to see if they have any ideas...
  8. English please, folks.
  9. Hi All, Just a quick note to say that yesterday the forum reached a milestone, you guys have made over 100,000 posts! Congrats (?) to Nelly Ofori for making the actual 100,000th post. Secondly, I had always wondered why the jobs forum wasn't getting any use, and it wasn't until I saw someones status update today that I realised why --- nobody could reply! This is now fixed. Good luck to you all with your admissions. The management :-).
  10. I did move the search examples thing too. Good spot, but that wasn't it. It was a cosmetic thing... quite subtle.
  11. Hi All, A few changes were made to the results system. To save space on the results page The news is now 'ticker' styleEnter your search here was moved into the search box There was one other change, I wonder if anyone can notice it? Also, when you submit results the system optionally accepts GPA and GRE scores. These are not yet displayed anywhere, but will be eventually, once there's enough data.
  12. Last February the server crashed frequently in February and March ;-(. But this year we're on a different server with better software, so I'm hoping all is OK...
  13. Just a small note on the privacy thing. The only thing we have here is your email address and you can be sure that we'll never pass it on to a third party. So, as a previous poster said, be thoughtful about what you write so as to be sure not to give away any personal info. and you should remain reasonably anonymous.
  14. There's a chat linked from the top of the forum. It is currently limited to 5 members...
  15. Not at all cpaige. Don't worry.
  16. If the site stops being useful then I'll just turn it off. So let's try to keep things cordial and not let that happen.
  17. Just to add, since the chat software is now 'final', there is a limit of 5 members until I purchase an upgraded package. Depending on demand I will consider doing this, but from the looks of things, the chat isn't so popular yet. I might try limiting the opening hours to see if that stimulates demand... I welcome your input...
  18. That depends on how much more important stuff you should have been doing ...
  19. Please don't do either of those things!
  20. Looks very similar to the lambda calculus to me ...

  22. You can do it. The step up convertor isn't really the kind of thing you want in the kitchen though. If the devices are universal (i.e. 110-240V), which is unlikely but possible, you don't need a convertor just an adaptor for the socket. You'd be surprised how cheap things are in the US though, I'd safe some space and just rebuy them.
  23. No problem. I've also just made a few changes so that future posts will be time stamped more accurately.
