  1. I knew that this was one of UNC's funding options, but I feel like at least a few of us haven't even heard back about an admissions decision. I guess since this option isn't for everyone, UNC could still admit some of us later...
  2. Meant to also mention 3/7 with radio silence haha. Best of luck to you too.
  3. 4/7 here in my first application cycle. Something could still happen, especially since it seems like UNC hasn't told a fair amount of applicants yet?
  4. I've been checking a fair amount this past week and still have the "submitted" status as well...
  5. Best of luck to those waiting to hear from UNC. Some decisions have gone out recently as seen on the survey, but I'm primarily interested in ID and haven't heard anything yet. Just hoping that the decision comes soon regardless of the actual decision itself.
  6. ID was my primary interest and I haven't heard anything yet.
  7. Would anyone who received a decision from UNC mind sharing their primary area of interest?
  8. Did you receive an email notification or did you check the website?
  9. Anyone talk to or hear from UNC's epi PhD program recently?
  10. I have not heard back from UNC, BU, or Brown. I was rejected from JHU (infectious disease track). UNC basically told me that notifications could come anytime from mid-January onward and that they were hoping to have everything done by March 1st, as they moved their application deadline up this year. I'm pretty sure that they send out a few acceptances here and there and not just at once. I think Brown already had their prospective student day, so under most circumstances that probably isn't a good sign for us. Per the survey, I think BU's prospective student day is coming up. Best of luck
  11. Please let us know what you hear back, and I don't think simply asking is too pushy.
  12. "Interviews are not required. However, they can be helpful to the admissions committee if you're in the area" (http://sph.unc.edu/application-steps/?program=epid-phd-r). I think the faculty that read your application can also reach out to you, but I'm pretty sure they only have an admitted student day and not an interview day (unless you set up a visit with them).
  13. I didn't apply to Columbia, but I have yet to hear from BU epi (PhD). Also waiting to hear (interview or admission decision) from the following schools if others are interested: UNC, Brown, Harvard, and Yale. I received rejections from both UW (2 weeks ago) and Hopkins (last week).
