Mine is still 12/24. And I applied to ARO. So I'm pretty confident I didn''t get it/make it far.

I'm just watching anime and better call saul in the mean time ?

I don't think GRE scores matter that much tbh. So long as you didn't do *horribly* on it, and by that, I mean like 40th percentile or something crazy like that, I think you're fine.

Are you all buying the dip in crypto and stock market?

If they released the results today, saying we got in, and then said "April Fools !", that would be the cruelest joke ever ! ?
-
idk, I just feel horrible. Worked my butt off on that application. And sincerely did the best I could. It feels like a slap in the face.
-
To play Devil's advocate, they could have said this in an attempt to calm everyone down and make people less anxious.
-
I don't think I got it. The last updated date is 12/24 for me, which squarely lies in the preliminary review panel. No updates beyond that. RIP.
-
Holy crap man, you're awesome ❤️

Thanks for this. Did they say anything about the "last application update" ? I guess not if they don't have anything more concrete.

ARO BAA with last update 12/24; mechanical eng

From my understanding, they do three rounds of review. The first is that they look at GPA and GRE/MCAT scores, then cut out some. Out of those, they then look at the proposal/essay, then cut out some. And finally, they forward to DoD who make the final selection. My understanding is that they don't necessarily take the highest GPAs, but rather pair the GPA with the student's ability. Pairing this with the "last updated" date, I doubt I made it far.

That's a good point. I guess you're right. Fantasizing about different dates isn't going to make the result come out sooner.
-
This is interesting. Two years ago, they mentioned whether applicants were moving on to subject matter experts or not. Maybe a date in early March means they've moved on the application to subject matter experts?

I think people are hypothesising that there is an internal system where they track who has received the reward and who will not get it. Like a Boolean value or something. And if this Boolean value changes, then that date changes.

Mm, those are the two emails I've received as well. I guess we will have to wait and see. But, knock on wood, I have a promising feeling about your application !
-
Did you have anything missing from your application? Did you receive an email on that date from them? I guess probably not. But chances are you got it !
-
I have 12/24/2019, which is my submission date. Given that, I doubt I got really far in the application process. It's a bummer since I really did my best on the application. I won't keep my expectations super high, but it is a blow. :-(

I guess it''s best to be patient. Easier said than done. But it'll come ! ? I feel like Cartman in that SP episode where he tries to wait for the Wii, but freezes himself because he's impatient.
-
Seems like it isn't ! Looks like the website itself says April 2020. Has anyone received any email communications yet? It seems very silent out there...

I wonder if it will be delayed due to the Coronavirus issue. I think the chances of it are less, since they probably could work from home. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed. Oh well. I will have waited for a few months, so I can wait another.

The wait is killing me ! D:

Hey everyone ! I am planning to go here in the fall. Is anyone else on here planning on going ?

I got an offer for a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering. Looking for a studio in a safer area...probably the North/Western area of the campus.
