I do hope so. I have Bachelors GPA 3.96 and MPhil score of 64.3 and have most of the pre-reqs. Fingers crossed. Thank you for replying.

Thank you! I will definitely get in touch. Fingers crossed. Would love to live in that city!

It doesn't give a minimum GRE score. So I applied. But their program is sought after, then 161 might not cut it.

I have a strong Math background and a good GPA but the math questions in the GRE exam completely caught me off guard. I prepared from Barron's! Now I am not sure if I will even get into SFU (which is a great school but is placed at 151-200). Canadian schools give their minimum as 160 on the GRE quantitative which is slightly misleading because most US schools ask for a near perfect score. So I applied thinking I am past the minimum at least but now I am not so sure!

Do you think NYU gives more weight to GRE quant?
-
No, I meant the Canadian economics programs. I thought my GRE for political science programs was alright. But it appears that my profile has a major weakness

I know this is off topic. I have not had the best outcome. 3 rejections so far from US programs. I have applied for Economics programs at Toronto, UBC and Simon Fraser in case I don't get admission in the US Pol Sci programs. Anyone here knows if 161 in GRE quant automatically disqualifies me from these schools? Do I have any hope at all?

This may be a bit late-but what did you decide at the end?
-
Has anyone applied to SFU? For admits in previous years, what do you think their threshold for GRE quant is?

wow, congrats! That means NYU has sent out their decisions mostly. How many people are usually on their waitlist?
-
NYU sent you an acceptance yesterday? Are they done with the offers?
-
Thank you so much! Waiting it out through march. Canadian schools will send their decisions then.

Yeah, I feel academic work could mean my written sample because I forgot to edit parts of the intro that weren't structured well. I realized it at a much later stage. By then I had applied to all schools in the US. No room for mistakes-it's not entirely a surprise. For NYU I emailed in early January to request for change in writing sample but they refused to replace it. This scares me the most that my NYU application will be rejected on the same grounds.

This application process is so demotivating. My decisions from NYU and Stanford are the only ones left and they are highly ranked programs. It's not looking good for me

My rejection letter from UC-Davis states the following: "The program to which you applied indicated the following as the reason(s) that you were not selected for admission: No additional space available in the graduate program for this admissions cycle. Academic work is not as competitive as that of other applicants." Can anyone here help me figure out if this is specifically for me or does this seem generic? And if it is, what does academic work include?
-
I hope NYU admissions are also staggered. That is my top choice
-
is 161 good enough for 150-200 ranked school?
-
No, it's not ideal to ask if feel it might be awkward. I just emailed her to ask for advice on something else and asked about admissions indirectly. But wouldn't recommend it if it might seem awkward.

UCLA has made its decisions but probably not all. I had correspondence with a POI and I was informally informed that my outcome may not be positive. You may want to check with the POI about that as well

A number of applicants have received acceptance at NYU? Those who haven't heard, is it a rejection?
