  1. Congratulations! Man, I was so happy for you that I had to do password recovery just to post this!
  2. I am not expressing an opinion or providing advice one way or the other -- those are both overall great schools and I don't know much about their photo programs -- but for background information, that comment about SAIC and "political correctness" is possibly in reference to this from last summer: https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2017/07/24/debate-over-art-teaching-and-prejudice-school-art-institute-chicago
  3. There's a thread of common interview questions here: Good luck!
  4. You're obviously past this point, but I would have said don't spend the time and money applying to "safety" schools unless you're really ready to go to them if your "dream" schools don't work out. At this point it's hard to say without knowing your exact situation, but for me personally I'd say I'd either: 1) Take my time and try to get into that school that's going to be the best fit for me, or 2) I'd consider getting two MFAs, one at the school that's accepted you now, one at that school you think would be even better. That's definitely not for everyone! But, for example, Noel W. Anderson who is teaching at NYU has an MFA in printmaking from Indiana and an MFA in sculpture from Yale.
  5. That is a lot of great advice and a, um, great username, Mr, PoopyButtHole! First time poster, I just got my "no interview" from Yale last Friday ... I wish I would have known about this forum sooner! There is a lot of great advice here that I could have used! It sounds like a few of the things that I left on the editing room floor when cutting my statement down were exactly the types of things I should have found a way to include. Good info for next year! Congrats to everyone who got interviews and good luck everyone!
