    Yayyyyyy, got into George Mason and American this morning!! Pretty sure I'm going to go to GMU, even though it's a smaller program. I liked the diversity of the faculty and really clicked with the painting professor, felt a good connection and liked what she thought about my work. Plus facilities are amazing, and logistically it's closest. Not sure on funding yet, but at any rate it'll be the cheapest of any I've been accepted to plus GTAs and GPAs are available. So updated: GMU: Accepted American: Accepted MICA MFAST: Accepted with 28k scholarship (7k/year = 1/3 tuition covered per year) GWU: Rejected, boo VCU: Still haven't heard...

    Ah very cool I should email them too. I feel the same way, the phone call and interview were both very personable and made me feel great. I'm close enough I could commute although it'd be long, plus I have a four year old I need to find daycare for and my husband works pretty long hours so those six weeks would be hellish. I have another program closer that might be more affordable and easier to get to, but not as well known as MICA. So I think its going to come down to logistics and funding. Ahhhh decisions!!

    Very cool!! Yes I really loved the faculty and panel interview, it seemed like a great program and opportunity. I think the grad admissions office originally told me we'd hear the decision this week and then get a packet with financial info via postal mail the next week. What did you ask the perspective students?

    Got into MICA's MFAST (Low-Residency Studio Art) via a lovely phone call today Still waiting to hear back on funding and a few other programs so we'll see!

    I haven’t heard back either and it’s making me nervous. But someone from Richmond visited my website this past week so I’m holding out some hope we might hear soon? I was like one of the last to upload my supplemental material because my automated link never came, I had to email and call so I know they were having issues with the system so maybe that’s why? Lol, I’m hoping.

    Did you like GMU? It's the closest to me location wise, my hubby is military and we have a son with limited daycare options so I'm hoping to hear back from them soon. The facilities looked nice from what I saw when we drove through campus. Haven't talked to any faculty yet, hopefully they like my work its a little out there. I tried to stalk the forums from last year and it seems like VCU sends out invitations early February for interviews but haven't heard anyone get them this year so there is still hope! Haha.

    Okay so glad I found this forum because I've applied for Fall 2018 and am currently freaking out, so reading these has made me feel better. I graduated from Kansas State in 2017 with a BFA in Painting and Drawing, but currently live in the DC area so I've only applied to programs around here. MICA (Studio Art Low Res) - Interview 2/24 VCU - Haven't heard GMU - Haven't heard GWU - Haven't heard American - Haven't heard
