Just accepted Brown's BSHS Ph.D. offer!

I've declined my offer to McGill. I'm only deciding between two programs now but hoping to make my final decision next Monday!

Did anyone contact McGill about funding?

Nope, I haven't heard anything yet. I am hoping that I will hear something soon as I will need to start making decisions.

Hey, so I just got an email from UCSF - I was waitlisted.

I just got the official email from the GPS but it doesn't talk about funding.

NOPE! I've emailed them last week and still haven't received anything. Have you heard anything from them?

oooh shit ! you are right. now i'm confused hahaha I think we are accepted by the department and it will be unlikely that GPS will reject us (right....?) so we are waiting for the official letter from GPS.

Okay great! That is what I thought. I am going to send them an email and see what the deal is.

Has anyone heard from UCSF? I applied to the Global Health Sciences program. That is the last school I need to hear back from so I can make a decision.

Update! So I contacted McGill regarding admission timeline - I said: Hi, I hope this email finds you well. I was wondering if you can provide me an update on the committee's decision. I know online it says there is a mid-march timeline, but I have to respond to another school's admission offer by the end of this month. Looking forward to hearing from you. Is UW, specifically Global Health - Implementation track, sending out decisions yet? I saw on the results page that someone was rejected. I know that visiting day is Feb 28 because they told people who were interviewing to mark it in our calendar and they will let us know more after interviews are over. Does anyone know when they would let us know?

I also applied to McGill's epi program. The status on the portal changed a couple of days ago to "in review" so I think they are just slower than other programs.

Harvard doesn't have a mass interview day. From my understanding, POI contact applicants for interviews but I feel that most ppl should have heard back already.

Thank you! I wasn't sure but I'll work on that tomorrow. Who did you send it to? I don't want to make faculty feel like they have to respond so i was thinking the coordinator rather than faculty. I didn't get invited to Yale's interview day so I'm assuming it is a rejection. I also see that you applied to JHU - health systems track. I applied as well but haven't heard anything yet so...

Same program. No, I'm not located in cali and they unfortunately didn't offer travel reimbursement.

I just got an email from Columbia saying they just received my application, which is strange because I submitted in Nov.

Last year, I only applied to 5 programs and only had an interview at Harvard but was then rejected. This yr I'm applied to 9 schools (yes, I think I'm crazy as well), see list below: UCSF - Global Health Services University of Washington - Global Health - Implementation Sciences Harvard - Global Health - Health Systems Brown - Behavioral and Social Health Sciences Yale - Social and Behavioral Sciences Johns Hopkins - International Health - Health System Columbia (ONLY DrPH program) - Global Health University of Toronto - Social and Behavioral Health Sciences McGill Univerity - Epi Yes, I know. It's a lot of programs but we will see. I was able to speak with at least 1 faculty from each program. I hope we can make this page more active like last yr! It really helped (even though I didn't get into anywhere it was helpful to know that people were going through the same thing!)
