  1. German are punctual when it comes to meetings and work hours. But there is a lot that they aren't punctual with such as train schedules, government paperwork, and University related stuff. In Switzerland you could get a refund if your train is a few minutes late. Not in Germany, however.
  2. I just got off the phone with the DAAD office in NY. They told me to wait 2 more weeks and that this is even a conservative estimate. They have 600 applicants for the graduate scholarship for all applicants and have only processed about 50/600 so far. They told me that they are not authorized to discuss an application with a pending decision and just asked me to be patient for at least two more weeks. Some people in another forum are saying this could take until the beginning of May. There may be some truth to this
  3. I called DAAD New York today regarding the graduate scholarship for all applicant and they told me to wait until end of March or beginning of April at the latest. They said they are waiting on a quote (I think they meant the budget for this year) from the head office in Bonn.
  4. Yours probably don't need to change. Mine are 1.10.18 to 1.8.20.
  5. I was wondering if applicants would share their background (such as GPA, Major, Uni, GRE scores, Region, Target University, Undergrad institution, etc) and the specific scholarship applied for since this would serve as a good reference for future applicants. There is a good example in the link below, and I think the template they have would be very useful here: http://www.physicsgre.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=99428&sid=ec958c86010abe47cbb75a2f6d106162 I found no such information in the forums entailing Daad in this website.
  6. Has anyone heard of anyone who applied twice and got accepted the second time? I have a feeling I am rejected since it still says application submitted and the funding period hasn't changed. Last year I was rejected but was told that I came very close and the committee gave me 8.70/10 points, whatever that means. I have done a lot of things to improve my resume and this year I thought I might win the award. I am applying for a physics master (graduate scholarship for all applicants through Daad New York).
