  1. I’m likely going to defer for SAIS (if that’s an option?), and attempt to work as much as possible over the next year. I’d like to knock some time off of my Boren federal service requirement in the meantime since I don’t plan to stay in government, but I’m not sure if that’s realistic.
  2. So for my “Gift Award” as well as loans it only says 2021...does that mean I haven’t been offered any awards for my first year?
  3. I am in! One year in Bologna and one year in DC! Was also alarmed to not see anything about financial aid...I completed the FAFSA, but it seems like the email SAIS Europe folks didn’t mention aid at all... All the best, everyone!
  4. I saw someone write that it was 6 PM EST last year
  5. Oh, very nice! I applied for the international law concentration. Hope we get to meet in Bologna!
  6. I applied for the MA! One year in Bologna one in DC.
  7. I got to speak with the Director of Admissions for SAIS Europe and in the email follow up to our conversation she said: ”we will be in touch after March 6th.” Hoping that COULD mean tomorrow, but who knows? All the best everyone!
  8. Congrats on your acceptances! Did you apply early to American? I was accepted two weeks ago but still haven’t received any info regarding scholarship offers.
  9. My interview was very similar. The interviewer spent a surprising amount of time talking about the program, and shared quite a bit about his time as a student. I also walked away with the impression that I had a good a chance ? fingers crossed! Best of luck everyone!
  10. I was last person to interview the day I went in and the Director of Admissions came over to say hello. She had said we could hear as early as March 6th, but the 13th seems much more realistic.
  11. I just finished mine in person. Was yours more of an interview or a conversation? It started off as very interview like and became increasingly casual, pleasantly so.
  12. Received my acceptance yesterday for the MA in Global Governance, Politics, and Security. I haven't had the chance to speak to any SIS alumni, and I'm trying to pick out what American's comparative advantages are over other schools...any thoughts anyone? Also, has anyone visited for an open house? If so, how was your experience?
  13. Has anyone done their interview for the Bologna program? I’m heading to NYC today for mine...
  14. My fellowship adviser just reached out to me to say that notifications for UK partnership applicants will be coming out today! It seems as if last year everyone on the spreadsheet heard back between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm EST(?). Finger crossed! Good luck everyone!
  15. Hello all! Was surprised that I couldn't find an existing discussion about the Humanity in Action fellowship...there's also very little information about the program online. Any other applicants for this cycle? I applied with a preference for all but the Atlanta program. This was my second time applying for HIA...hoping for a different result this time around, or at least an interview!
  16. Applied to the SAIS Europe MA program for the January deadline. Fingers crossed! Anyone other applicants for the latest round?
  17. District 2 here. Just heard back...not advancing. Best of luck to everyone moving forward and to those still waiting!
  18. That seems to be the case. My adviser was convinced that everyone from a district should here back the same day, and that seems to be the case for the other districts...not sure what's happening there.
  19. I don't actually have access to this, but if my adviser is willing to share an updated version I'll post that here. Good luck to you as well!
  20. District 2 here...anxiously waiting. Was REALLY hoping to hear back yesterday. Adviser shared this with me yesterday. Not sure if it's of any use, but I thought I'd share. Best of luck everyone!
  21. Oh, I misunderstood, sorry! Yes, if you plan on staying in country and pursuing an internship/learning opportunity in the spring, than yes, that's completely allowed. I thought you meant you just wanted to complete the fall program and do your own thing in country a bit after the program end date. Sorry!
  22. Hello! I'm a 2018 awardee and I was scrolling through here and wanted to give you a heads up: NSEP was super hands off as far as travel and what we do in-country. On the contrary, American Councils is very strict. I only did the first semester, but it wasn't possible to stay in-country past the departure date they had determined for us. If you're coming back for a second semester/internship, they're a lot more flexible, but they will not let you just stay for an additional month if you only do the first semester. Those were their rules last year, at least. Good luck!
  23. Whelp, just got rejected from Beginner Korean. All the best to everyone!
