Anyone here received formal acceptance yet? The graduate coordinator of the program I applied, told me the decisions would be made by April 1. I hope we get our official decisions this week. I wonder what's taking them so long. I have also noticed other candidates here in gradcafe complaining about Waterloo's delay in announcing their decisions. Hopefully this week is the week.

Agreed. The honor will follow all along our career.

@WKLP Ah, couldn't agree more. This scholarship would make our lives way easier during grad school. Good luck with your meeting tomorrow

@WKLP If I recall correctly, the applicants will be notified directly. I remember reading in previous years' Vanier threads here that the university may not know the results in advance and the applicants will know it first. Hang in there! Hopefully we'll know the results next week.

@HonestlyConfused Hang in there! I can completely relate to it. Going by the date in the researchnet site, it is only two weeks away. But feels like a long long time. I'm trying to distract myself by learning new tools but it is really difficult to concentrate. If I am not wrong, the email will notify us that a decision has been made and once you sign in the portal, you would know the result. Other can correct me if I am wrong.

@Ocean's_Witch I assumed I would be informed if and when I receive my admit letter. I agree with you though. We may not be informed if we don't succeed. We are way past early March now. Have you received your admit letter from UofT otherwise?

@Ocean's_Witch My prospective PI at UWaterloo informed me that the department has nominated me. Haven't heard back anything since. Do you mind me asking which school have you applied to?

Just bumping this thread up to see if anyone else is waiting is to hear from OTS award from any university in Ontario?

@Guldam Kwack I hope so too. This month isn't moving as fast as I'd like it. Fortunately, I received an unofficial acceptance from the PI on Tuesday. Official letter to follow. No information on funding yet. I hope they send out the letters soon so all of us can make our final decisions.

This is making me even more impatient. Don't know how I am going to survive this month. The uncertainty is affecting my sleep. At this point, I could digest Vanier rejection better than this horrible anticipation.

@Toc Younger and @Guldam Kwack good luck to both of you with your application. I hope they announce the results soon. Waterloo is my first choice. Is UWaterloo your first choice as well? Have you heard back from your other applications?
