Yes! Where is the best area to live in? I don’t want to live in Portland because of traffic. What is the best way to look for housing ( online, specific website, advertisements)?

I would like to be in a smoke free house hold. Do many people rent out rooms? I’d rather have an apartment and rent with other students.

Hillsboro is cheaper than Beaverton from what I’ve heard, and a little closer to Forest Grove. Beaverton is a pretty large area, but it’s right next to Hillsboro. It’s about 35-40 minutes from where I am in Beaverton to campus. You’ll probably hit a little traffic no matter what unless you live in Forest Grove.

There are several Facebook groups for rooming in the greater Portland area where you can specify what type of environment you’re looking for.

    Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure they said twice when I went to go interview and they are just a long 2 days. The first year I talked to lives in Portland and said her clinical is there and the drive isn't bad which I agree! Can always email Diana to double check if it is twice or 3 times!

I think classes are 3 days (Mon, Tue, Wed) the first semester, and then 2 days a week the second semester.

Also, if anyone has questions about the area, I moved up 2 years ago and live in Beaverton but worked in downtown Portland

@raspie Sweet - I've been seeing some results online. I haven't gotten anything yet haha oh well!

I saw some people posting denied and waitlisted statuses via email, but I still haven’t heard either way. This waiting is making me nervous ?

Bringing this thread back - how are you all prepping for the upcoming interviews? Looking at anything special or just general grad school interview questions?

I have been prepping with general interview questions as well as focusing on situational questions. I had an interview last week and was asked several “Tell me about a time...” questions

Has anyone gotten an interview invite to Boston University yet? I'm trying to figure out how to fill out the interview preferences table. It's very confusing haha... I saw someone posted a similar question on the results page, but was hoping that someone had insight here. Thanks!

I sent it like this (would prefer Saturday but can do Friday?). I also included my skype name in the first box underneath. Hope this is right!

@samijeanne Awesome! Im in San Diego!

What area of Portland do you recommend for a hotel. Im staying in Forest Grove on Thrusday but I would like to stay the weekend downtown and explore since I have never been there.

Nice! Southeast Portland is pretty trendy and has fun nightlife spots, and SW downtown is more business-y above Portland State and is nice to walk around (I work downtown). Feel free to message me for more details :)

  7. Hi!

I'm originally from San Francisco but did my undergrad in New York, and I'm currently living in Portland, OR, completing my CSD coursework online through Pacific University.

I'm planning on applying to MGHIHP, Pacific University, Portland State University, and University of Washington. I'm also considering applying to CSUEB, SFSU, and NYU, but I really want a school that will let me focus on aphasia as much as possible, since I know that's the population I want to work with. Let me know if you know of any schools I should look into!

I don't have any research experience, and I wish my GRE scores were higher, but I'm hoping my personal statement and volunteer experience can make up for that!
