  1. Yeah this is what's really stressing me out. I'll see one of my schools and go AHH!!!...and then see it's developmental, not clinical.
  2. Solidarity! I even had two November applications and nothing! I don't expect to hear good news for myself, but I thought someone from my schools would have heard something.
  3. Anyone heard from Emory for clinical? I saw that last year they offered interviews on the 3rd, so I'm just wondering if there's any updates from them.
  4. I don't know if it's just me, but that link didn't work. Something about permissions.
  5. Same! Though as I mentioned before, two of my schools contacted applicants this week last year, so I'm on high alert!
  6. Ah! So jealous! Congrats! I hope interview goes super well! P.S. Any idea if all PIs have contacted their applicants? P.P.S Mine is also no under review. I'm trying to balance a healthy skepticism with my need to be supportive of other people.
  7. That actually happened to me today. I freaked out!...it was a telemarketer.
  8. hahaha this will be me tomorrow since one of my schools gave out interview offers on the 3rd last year.
  9. I'm gay, but I'm in the closet. I opened up in my applications and said yes I'm a queer individual. I'm not specializing in LGBTQ issues; but, like you said, we might be better able to understand our LGBTQ clients.
  10. Some of the schools I applied to (don't remember which) don't have admissions committees. They just have your potential PI read the app. I would guess that, for some areas, that substantially cuts down on how many applications they each have to look at....of course, I don't know if these schools I mentioned making early decisions use that model.
  11. I just obsessively checked old grad cafe results to see when my programs typically send out interview offers: last year one sent them out December 3rd and one sent them out December 5th! ah! This is going to be a stressful week!
  12. It might still show up in time. You never know. I had two schools that took FOREVER to send transcripts (I think it was two months). The school I was applying to said that hadn't been received. Then they magically appeared on my application on the due date. I don't know what happened, but yours might still show up.
  13. If it's on the US east coast; then, since it's past 5 pm, it's probably closed. Also, I would guess that the office will be closed over the weekend.
  14. Okay mine did 5/7 an hour ago and I've heard nothing since then. I'm joining ya in fighting the urge to email her again. As hard as it is, let's hold off until tomorrow. They will do this for us! (...even if it's last minute).
  15. Same here! I've been super lax about recommendations because I didn't want to annoy my professors (I know they're each writing a lot of letters right now). I just checked and one of my writers needs to submit 6 applications by tomorrow. Freak out time!
  16. Not getting in is NOT a sign of failure. You could be the most impressive applicant ever; but, if the department thinks that you're not a perfect fit, you won't get in. Again, this does not make you a failure. It's just a matter of fit and you'll do better next year (though it's also still possible that you'll kill it this year!! woo!)
  17. I'm jumping the gun here, but does anyone know if any clinical psych programs send out any results via snail mail? I'm leaving my apartment for a bit for the holidays, can't forward my mail, but don't want to miss anything.
  18. Sadly they do (this is my fourth time applying to a grad program). I guarantee there's going to be someone who posts a fake acceptance to a top school on like December 2nd.
  19. It's on the results page (see link at top of page)
  20. Is anyone else stressing about the Georgia interview post? I didn't even apply there, but I did apply somewhere whose application was due the same day is Georgia's (yes I looked it up haha). This is trying my patience...and we just started!
  21. I didn't want to make a whole new post for this, but here's a request for everyone: post your results on the results page. You don't have to post your stats if it makes you uncomfortable (though it would help), but at the very least it would be super cool if you posted application updates. These give the rest of us a general idea of if we should hold on hope or if we probably aren't going to hear from the department. In my previous application seasons, the results page was a great resource. I'm just encouraging* you all to help it be one for this cycle, too. *This is a gentle encouragement. I'm not telling anyone that you have to do this, just pointing out that it would be helpful.
  22. I just checked and they actually do have someone I would work with. I have about $6 in my account after all these apps, so I won't be applying this year. Definitely on my radar for next year!
